Subway Guy
I am interested to know how long it will take for our line to gel in zone blocking. I know we had the zone blocking guru Alex Gibbs for a few years.I can't find out who our oline coach is now. Is it still Tice? Does he have experience with it? Subway Guy
I found it, Chris Morgan. Anyone know if he is good?
Truth B Told (TRU)
He is. Chris worked under the Shanahan's in Washington and also under Tom Cable twice. I'm pretty sure he knows what he is doing or else he wouldn't be the head offensive line coach.
Bobby.Digital
The one complaint I have this FA/Draft is our oline. I feel like it's the biggest weakness on our team and I'm not comfortable with what we have. It's going to be the #1 need we have going into next year. I think as of right now we're counting on Sam ******* Baker as our LG. He's one papercut away from missing the year. Also I'm not that high on Hawley and Schrader. However Schrader deserves the right to prove himself after the 2nd half he put up last year (even though he got abused in the Panthers game)
Subway Guy
In the past ZBS the lineman were on the smaller side, but that was needed for them to get to the next level. They got most of their guys in later rounds and they produced. I think it will take awhile for them to gel, but will be in shape mid season. While we are waiting for them to gel Ryan will keep us competitive. More athletic lineman. In this scheme the converted TEs in later rounds can succeed. Guys like Matthews with great feet do well. Asamoah is an example of a bigger guy who can move that does well. Ideally you want big guys that are dancing bearsThe ones that really fit the smaller guys making it are the Centers. McClure tore it up, as Hawley can at Center spot...both can really getup field quick
Subway Guy
I just hope they keep Ryan clean. With Jake hopefully 100% and a year of working together (besides lg) I think we will do good.
AndySG
I'm certainty not sold on our o-line, but I feel that we have four starters who are good enough to be starters in the NFL (and a gap at LG). That's a lot better than a year ago, and this scheme is meant to better fit their strengths.

People on these boards have no patience or faith in the coaching staff. So far, this coaching staff have proved to me they deserve our patience and trust. Sponge
I think it will be mid season until they gel with zbs.

I don't think they'll be foolish enough to count on Sam Baker to stay healthy but it'll be interesting to see what their plan is in the coming weeks.Look for pickups after the June 1st cut deadline. Let's just hope this guy clears his name...
