Playoffs!

Recommended Posts

Yeah it is early, but I can see it. We almost got there last year with a terrible D and Ryan under tons of pressure, and a lot of injuries.

With Matthews healthy again it will help. Our D is improved (couldn't of been much worse). And a coach that seems to know football. As long as we stay healthy for the most part we should make playoffs.

I wouldn't care if we went 8-8 or 3-13 next season to be honest. I see enough potential in what Quinn is doing and the players that are being brought into the team to absolutely know that within 2-6 years, Falcons will win a Superbowl.

You do realize that other teams improve through free agency and the draft also don't you?

Yep. We actually had a really good solid free agency. I know some don't feel that way because there was no huge splash, but our FA and now with the addition of the draft has made this one monster off season. Then you add Quinn and Shanny and subtract Smitty/Koetter/Nolan and our off season as a whole is unrealistically amazing.

Dunno about you, but I'm just as excited about a few other guys on staff:

- Raheem Morris. There's no questioning his intensity or skill at getting the best out of our players - this is going to be huge for our DBs. He'll have them playing fast and violent, I have no doubt about it.

- Richard Smith and Jeff Ulbrich. Yes, Smith is our DC technically, but he was also a LB coach in Denver, and a seriously good one at that. Don't even need to list players under him. Ulbrich has coached Eric Kendricks, Anthony Barr, and a few other guys who looked terrific, and he had a big rep in the college community for it too. Big ST guy with the Seahawks. I think our LBs and pass rush in general will see the biggest boost this offseason.

I'm not even going to get started on the playoffs thing, that'd be one heck of a pleasant surprise, but we have something good going.

Oh I love them all. Morris is a great coach. Just not a "head coach". His players loved him because he is a players coach. Hands on like Quinn is. His position here is perfect for him. He can be that guy and not have to worry about the discipline part which is what got him lost in Tampa.

I do though, I like em all. It's just easier to say Quinn/Shanny because those two are basically HC/DC/OC, Smitty/Nolan/Koetter.
