And looking at it diplomatically, what is the difference in this draft and previous years draft? Smith out and Quinn in. And that has made all the difference. Oldskooler
Pump the brakes.Slow yer roll.Chillax.This MIGHT be a great draft, but we won't know for sure for a few years.Beasley is a situational pass-rush specialist right now. Can he become an every-down player? Maybe. Maybe not.Collins has only started 10 games and has several failed drug tests. He is one blunt away from losing a quarter of a season. He is also compleyely inexperienced. "Horrible pick" is an extremely likely outcome.Coleman. Has speed but not much agility. Can't break NFL arm tackles.Hardy: lacks speed or burst to create separation. I have nothing bad to say about Jarret. Perfect pick, and Son Of The Hammer.Obviously these are worst-case scenarios, focusing on weaknesses rather than strengths. My point here is not to crap on the draft, but rather to illustrate hom much still needs to be overcome, how much needs to go right, before we can call this a "great" draft. nbostp
Way too early to declare that already. But I like it a lot on paper right now too.

Lornoth
I love that we didn't reach for an OG after the good ones flew off the shelves in the late 2'nd/3'rd. Our first 5 picks were absolutely amazing.
Knight of God
The main reason some on this board don't like it, these are not "care bears" type players. These are A Type personalities.
smittylo
I'm not an expert I this but I've been a Falcon fan since Alfred Jenkins and company. I honestly think that this might be the best draft in Falcon history. I've never been so excited about unproven players but I think we might be on to something here. Grady Jarrett in the late rounds??? In the past, that pick would have been ummmmmm some unknown from UConn. Im hyped. Let's go Falcons!!!!! thanat0s
Smh. Unless you are saying one of these guys will be better than Matt Ryan, a laughable notion in itself, this thread has no purpose.

thanat0s
One player does not a draft make.Um. No, but one HOF calibur player does. Matt is greater than any collection of draft picks we've ever taken. Ever.Ever.
MAD597
Well it certainly is the least complained about draft ever that is for sure. I'm pretty happy things seemed to really fall our way and we went BPA that was a need and did not get to cute about it.
Lornoth
Um. No, but one HOF calibur player does. Matt is greater than any collection of draft picks we've ever taken. Ever.Ever.I love Matt but... no. I'll take a draft full of good-great players over one superstar and nothing else all day.

Julio isn't half the player Matt is, and had he gone Cleveland and their QBs, no one would know him, and that's the last thing I'll say about this ******** idea. Have a good night. MattyIceCube
I like the Akeem King pick. Getting a project at S intrigues me.It's getting good grades so far too:http://walterfootball.com/nfldraftgrades7.php
thanat0s
Mike Kenn, Tommy Nobis, Claude Humphrey and Bull Fralic might disagree , and Neion Deion definitely would!I go back a very long way, and none of those greats in team history created the success that Matt has. Not even close. He's the only reason we haven't been 2-14 regularly since Vick left. Matt is the greatest Falcon ever. Deion could claim that, but he took off for most of his career. Oldskooler
Our first 5 picks were absolutely amazing. How about we re-think that.Jalen Collins is a pothead with 10 starts and 4 benchings.Tevin Coleman is fast but not elusive, and can't run with power. Also comes from a school that has never produced a decent NFL player that I can remember.Justin Hardy plays hard, but lacks speed and burst, and cannot create separation.I'm not saying this was a bad draft. I'm saying that every one of our draft picks has flaws that they may or may NOT be able to overcome. This might end up being a great draft, but let's see them actually play AT LEAST a pre-season game before crowning them as HoF-bound.
