ATL_DirtyBirds
So happy that the Falcons took Coleman!! Have to brag a bit since not many Indiana players make it to the NFL, much less the Falcons. He will be a huge steal for us.I have watched him his entire career and here are some things I can say about him:Speed is Real - Watch the tape on Tevin and what you will notice is how often he makes linebackers and safeties take terrible angles. Not only that, but often times defenders are not even able to touch him in the open field. When he sees a hole, he explodes through it and he has the ability to take it the distance any time he touches the ball. Has Vision - I have seen some people doubt Tevin's vision, but I can say that if he did not have vision he would not have had the success he had. Just logically thinking, with the loaded boxes that Tevin played, he would of had to have good vision to recognize the proper holes to run through. If that isn't good enough for you, I want you to actually watch the film. There is a misconception that Tevin just ran straight down field every time and never faced a defender in his life and therefore is just all speed. Can Break Tackles - First off I would like to say that no, Tevin is by no means a power back. No, he will not truck many defenders. However, he does a very nice job of shedding tackles, especially ones from behind that try to latch onto his back. He has a really good stiff arm that I hope he uses more often and a good "slap away" that I also hope he uses more. Tevin always fell forward, which at least will get 1-2 more yards per carry. But do you really need to be the best at breaking tackles when you can outrun defenders?Great in Pass Pro - Showed a willingness and ability to help keep the QB clean. Knew his assignments and was able to execute them well. Can Catch Out of the Back Field - Right now I would say that he is primarily a player that will catch it on dump downs or screens and not more complicated routes. However, he could be very dangerous in dump downs with a linebacker on him. He showed a good ability in the passing game in his career at IU.Has a Great Attitude - He really has an attitude like Freeman and I think the two will feed off each other. This guy wants to be the best and works hard every single day. He has come through a lot (if you haven't read his story, I suggest you do as it is very good). He will compete and stay out of trouble and up the competition in practice and games. Is a 3 Down Back Right Now - He has all the abilities to play RB on all 3 downs and be a workhorse. Will he do that? I am not so sure, but that is fine as he will still get his touches. He can be trusted as a runner, receiver, or blocker.Runs Upright and Carries Only in Left Hand - If you have seen him play, you probably noticed how he is always running with it in his left hand. I don't know why this is, but I don't think I have ever seen him carry it in his right. Also, one thing I hope he fixes is running too upright. I know for a fact that Tevin Coleman is going to be a great player for the Atlanta Falcons. He is better than Melvin Gordon (trying not to turn this into a debate over who is better and spit out some facts about this) and could easily have a better career than Gurley. Great mother ******* pick!
Falcanuck
He will learn to switch the ball to his right hand. I hope.

Francis York Morgan
Getting me excited about this pick, lol. I'm done watching a few games and heavily scrutinizing now. I'm still not sure about his patience but I figure with a line that bad, you want to hit the hole asap, so I'm having a harder and harder time knocking him for it. I'm excited to have him here, that's for sure. Devonta wants to be the guy too so I'll enjoy watching the competition, but I think Coleman will win the starting gig. egghead
I watched highlights and kept thinking..That dude must have a great line. He never gets touched. So was wondering if he can actually get through a line on his own....But I got to thinking. Maybe he just sees the holes so much better. I don't know. That dude never gets touched...or at least not on the highlights. Would love to see highlights of him going through a stacked line though. Tuggle'2
Sprinkle in a little Tone for a homer once we've broken them down TC and RawR.I always forget about Tone. I think its more that I don't even really think of him as a RB. He's his own monster.

However, other times he can get caught up in the traffic inside. He does have some good moves between the tackles and does a good job knowing when to bounce it to the outside. Would like to see him get a bit more consistent between the tackles in gaining 4+ yards (may have something to do with the IU OL though and being hit well before the LOS). Wardog357
The one thing that I just haven't got a handle on...is I love the fact he can take it to the house, I really do. But we also need to be able to control the clock with running and passing. Keep our defense on the sidelines more.....take valuable time off the clock. That's the only thing I'm concerned with....maybe that's more freeman's role? Or, maybe Coleman can do that....just haven't got a clue until the year actually starts. Radiohead
Must admit, I'd never seen him until just now, but WOW.This kid seems to have that rare combination of quickness and burn-out, top-end speed.
Faithful Falcon
He will learn to switch the ball to his right hand. I hope.Took Ahman Green a while, but he was always effective.
Osiruz
I like that he's left handed actually, makes his stiff arm more lethal.
Psychic Gibbon
He reminds me a lot of DeMarco Murray, both the good and the bad.
atowndsgb28
This pick has me super excited. With our 3 backs plus this zone scheme we should have a run game that teams will actually have to plan for. Remember how bad Matt used to destroy teams with the play action?
