Steelers Trying To Trade Up To 33

Recommended Posts

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Steelers are interested in acquiring the Titans' No. 33 overall pick.

Per Schefter, the Titans are "taking calls." Schefter doesn't mention potential targets for the Steelers, but Alabama S Landon Collins would make a ton of sense for a team that desperately needs to replenish its stable of defensive backs. A cornerback or Minnesota TE Maxx Williams could also be in the mix.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports the Steelers are eyeing a cornerback in the second round, but may have to trade up to land him.

ESPN's Adam Schefter has already reported that the Steelers are considering trading up, perhaps with Tennessee at No. 33. The Steelers' second rounder isn't until No. 56, where players like LSU's Jalen Collins and Utah's Eric Rowe could already be gone. The Steelers need help all over their secondary.

We just need to stay put, a good player is going to be there at one position or another

I totally agree. We should just stay put and take whoever falls to us that fills a roster need.

I don't care if that's Jalen Collins, Eric Rowe, Quinten Rollins, Jake Fisher, T.J. Clemmings, Maxx Williams, Eric Kendricks, Bernadrick McKinney, Denzel Perryman, or someone else not listed... just don't go crazy and trade up and waste a 4th rounder. Someone good will fall to us.

If anything, I'd be happy to see us trade down and grab another 3rd or 4th round pick to do it. I would definitely try to trade down if someone like DGB or one of the remaining edge rushers falls to us.

I bet Steeler fans would flip, that's an amazing haul. Really crossing my fingers for Collins to be there at our pick though.

I can't see Collins getting past the Titans, Jaguars, and the Giants... all three could use him. Plus there are teams behind us who might trade up for him. I just don't see him falling all the way to #42...

We could easily wind up having someone try and trade up with us, with all the talent I think that'd be our best bet...but it'll be hard to upset me honestly, tons of good players on the board.
