pzummo
Here's a look at the roster/depth for each position. I figured this would be nice to keep a reference one while we discuss the best options for our next picks as the draft continues. These are my best guesses for the depth order of the guys currently under contract. Green, I'm good. Red, the position needs an upgrade. Brown, I wouldn't mind seeing an upgrade but could be serviceable if other holes are filled. Feel free to provide your own changes. One thing to note, the color code is based on their projected position on the depth chart. For example, even though Toi is red and the other TE's are green, it doesn't mean those other guys are better than Toi. It just means I'm comfortable with them as depth while I'm not comfortable with Toi as the starter.QB - Matt Ryan, TJ Yates, Sean RenfreeRB - Devonte Freeman, Antone Smith, Jerome Smith, Ronnie WingoFB - Patrick DiMarcoWR - Julio Jones, Roddy White, Leonard Hankerson, Devin Hester, Eric Weems, Bernard Reedy, Nick Williams, Freddie MartinoTE - Levine Toilolo, Mickey Schuler, Jacob Tamme, Tony Moeaki, Kyle MillerLT - Jake Matthews, Sam BakerLG - Harland Gunn, Mike Person, Adam ReplogleC - Joe Hawley, James Stone, Peter KonzRG - Jon Asomoah, Jared SmithRT - Ryan Schraeder, Lamar Holmes, Reid FragelNT - Paul Soliai, Ricky Havili-HeimuliUT - Ra'Shede Hageman, Tyson Jackson, Jonathan BabineauxRDE - Vic Beasley, Kroy Biermann, Cliff MatthewsLDE - Adrian Clayborn, Malliciah Goodman, Stansley MapongaSLB - Brooks Reed, O'Brien Schofield, Joplo BartuMLB - Paul Worrilow, Marquis Spruill, Nate StuparWLB - Justin Durant, Prince Shembo, Tyler StarrLCB - Desmond Trufant, Ricardo AllenRCB - Robert Alford, Jordan MabinSS - William Moore, Kemal Ishmael, Brandon BishopFS - Dezmen Southward, Charles Godfrey, Sean Baker
pzummo
After looking through the depth chart, defense is actually looking pretty good with our starters. Our biggest needs right now are LG, RT, and CB. We might be able to go with Alford starting at CB, but then we desperately need depth. If we get a starter at RCB, I feel much better with our depth as Ricardo moves to our 4th CB position. I am not comfortable at all with our starting OL as of right now. Our depth at TE looks really good and it would be a waste taking a TE this early in the hopes of upgrading Toi. We have bigger needs. Psychic Gibbon
Schraeder is fine, especially in a ZBS. TE and LG are the most glaring needs to fill, but LG can wait due to the ZBS. 5/6-tech DE will also need a long term player to groom for this season behind Clayborn, preferably Owa Odighizuwa. It doesn't just magically make bad players good at those positions. We need to protect Matt Ryan and I was not impressed with Schraeder in pass protection. We need a RT that is good with both ZBS and pass protection, and both LG and RT need to be upgraded.

SyCo
Schraeder only gave up 18 pressures. he was one of the best tackles in the league. Not sure why everyone wants to upgrade him

The wildcard here is that **** Sam Baker moving to RT and staying healthy! LG is the priority for sure.

FalconFromSpain
Maponga is a LB. As someone said, where is Goodman. Dimarco should be brown-red althought a fb is not an important posiiton, I liked the guy we had last year that got cut, dont remember his name. If we get a good MLB that can cover, defense starts to look good on paper. Fs and Lg are top priorities right now.

The QB is called to go along designed motions to compensate for predicted holes defenders could use against him.

I missed Goodman, will add him.Based on the number of depth and starters needed, I'm good with leaving DiMarco as our starting FB. We can't address that many positions in one offseason to put any priority on upgrading him. He's not a Pro Bowler, but he's not as bad as what we have starting at other positions. pzummo
Removed Drew Davis. Added Goodman over Maponga. Added highlights for a couple of players I missed earlier.
NorthernFalcon93
I think Goodman and Maponga both have a chance to do some things this year. I'm not certain about Spruill if he was drafted to be a ST or a potential LB
