You Have To Get Jaelen Strong At 42

Recommended Posts

Pairing this guy with Julio for the future would be huge. Those 2 on the outside, and Roddy and Hester playing inside. That passing attack would be legit. Strong is simply a baller.

If not strong, you have to get Eli Harold. Dude was a 5 star recruit coming out of HS. He has been productive, and disruptive over the past few years. Very young, and a great burst. I think we could play with Vic as a right side LEO and Harold as a left side LEO, replacing the LDE or SLB on passing downs.

Left side LEO?

The cluelessness on this board, man. It kills me sometimes.

I know that it hasn't been around, and that there is only 1. I'm not a dumbazz. On passing downs though having beasley on the right side, and harold on the left, gives us 2 speed rushers that can stand up, or put the hand in the dirt.

It was a mistake..... But I love the idea of double dipping for rushers

It wasn't a mistake, but a misunderstanding. I understand there is solely 1 LEO position, but on passing downs, having 2 speed rushers who can play up or down on the outsides would be huge. Edited by DarrellShropshire

We're not running 4 wide. We'll draft a WR, but we hardly need one in the 2nd.

I'm not opposed to the move. I'm just saying what you describe doesn't fit the scheme we're running. It fits Tampa Bay's new offense, but not ours.

Having picked up the edge rusher they needed in round one, they can take pretty much anybody they want in the rest of the draft. They can take the best guard, best LB, best TE, best RB, best edge rusher left, best WR.

Exactly. And based on value, Jaelen Strong or Tj Clemmings could be the best available player by the time it gets to us. I highly doubt Strong makes it to us though. I'd be very very very surprised. He's going to be good.

Been telling yall this pick #42 is the one to watch. Nobody has a clue WHAT we're going to do

Think it's offense, they've put a lot of draft and FA capital into the D last couple of years, Roddy is getting old, they need a RB to pair with Freeman, I'd like to see another Oline piece, Williams and Toilolo could make a killer TE combo.

If Collins or Kendricks are there at #42, do you still go offense?

I just don't know. I'm with you though, that we can take absolutely anything. I was talking to KOG about that.

Sidenote: Toilolo would make a killer TE on the bench. That guy sucks and I have no clue what they saw in him.

oh h#ll, I don't know, I think I would, the skill positions on O need some youth and, counting Beasley, they've spent 15 out of the last 18 draft picks on D, plus most of the FAs the last 2 years-time to see what you have.

And Toilolo spent a lot of time helping bad Olinemen block last year, not just the game where he was the RT. He had 30 catches and a couple of TDs last year. Bump that up a little- say 35-40 catches and 3-4 TDs out of your 2nd TE is pretty good.

Lots of players come on in their 3rd year, and last year was hard to judge anybody. I'd hope he went the Gonzo route and caught a 1000 balls a day over the off season. Think a lot of his routes were clogged up by a total lack of a run game last year, that he may benefit from Shanahan's system as much as anyone.

Hard to say because the players we have spent time with in the 2nd to 3rd range have all been LBers and offensive linemen. I'm actually hoping Olinemen as I see it as our biggest need right now and 3 players that we visited with should fit well in the outside zone and will be 2nd rounders.

Clemmings, T.J. OT 6'5" 309 Pittsburgh Cann, A.J. OG 6'4" 311 South Carolina Fisher, Jake OT 6'6" 300 Oregon

As far as LBer I really like Jake Ryan in the 4th or 5th.

That's a lot of wishful thinking on Toilolo but I hope he's at least decent. He's not that good of a blocker and his routes are terrible because he can't bend or get low when cutting. He's just tall.

Yea, I like those three. Clemmings the most. That kid is raw but mean. Fisher is second just because he's versatile and could be a LG or RT I'd guess. Cann is too soft for me. He's physical, but a Blalock kind of physical. I don't like that.
