FalconFanSince1969
Yup. Dimitroff is a coward using King to leak information and comments. He probably still hurt over Billick comments about roster. Whats sad tho is the owner is belieivng in TD and has him brainwashed. This is more than likely will be down fall of Quinn to.Yes, TD is an evil wizard that goes around casting brainwash spells on owners.Do some of you really listen to yourselves? Mr. Hoopah!
Just my two cents:Smith may have very well been an advocate for pursuing DTs who could crush the interior O-line and let your run-of-the-mill DEs clean up the spillover...HOWEVER, I have found it pretty distasteful and yet at the same time telling that Dimitroff has taken every chance he can to distance himself from Smith.I don't like Dimitroff. I think he would throw his own mom under a bus if it would guarantee him one more week as the GM for the Falcons.Thing is, Blank let him do that, and maybe even told him to do so. thanat0s
Yes, TD is an evil wizard that goes around casting brainwash spells on owners.Do some of you really listen to yourselves?Blank has always cared more about his image and legacy in the city than he has ever given a dam.n about championship football. It's all about getting a street named after him, and putting up landmarks in the city that people will attribute to him. He a narcissist, and he keeps his yes men close and pays them well to carry out that agenda. Football decisions will always be secondary to that.Rankin Smith was a huge philanthropist in Georgia, but he never made an issue of it. This guy won't shut up about his supposed glorious work in the community. I'd rather have the Smith's any day than that chump.

With Quinn/TD persuing Beasley.

You make the most money by winning championships. To suggest that's not Blank's number 1 goal is silly.
insight
In fairness we did try to trade up 2-3 times for a pass rusher last year. The closest one likely being trading back up into the 1st for Dee Ford. But had we done that we probably wouldn't have a 1st this year which means no Beasley (and no Hageman). I'd rather have Beasley and Hageman than Ford. That was what was reported but one thing about TD he will get the guys he wants regardless of cost. If were willing to trade up for a DE it's interesting that we couldn't find one over the entire draft. Both lines have been neglected throughout TD's tenure in favor of skill positions or finding the specific player he coveted. This desire to become explosive whether prompted by the owner or not clearly moved away from Smitty's philosophy. TD deserves credit for putting together a championship caliber squad in 2012 but he basically went all in mortgaging the teams future.Heck it may have worked if Smitty didn't rush turner back, cut Edwards or play starters in a meaningless game which resulted in Abe's injury. That being said the lack of quality draft picks and holes throughout the roster is on TD. The guys he drafted and the cost of to get them never equaled the talent given up in the process. Edited May 1, 2015 by insight
thanat0s
The million dollar questionAre Falcons closer to the goal of a championship ? Under McKay era or TD era?Answer is both have had amount of time to get us to championship levelBoth have failedExactly. People around here love to hate the Smith's, but this ownership and management haven't equalled their successes.
thanat0s
Nah. Look at attendence during Vick days vs Falcons successful run from 08-12'More people came to watch VickTrue again. Profit sharing in the NFL ensures everybody makes basically the same money. There simply isn't an extra incentive to win championships. That's an organizational priority that certain teams have. We certainly don't.

jidady
I'm really sad that the Dimitroff/Smith relationship ended in such a nasty divorce. They always seemed like a great tandem.
FalconFanForLife
I thought it was funny when. D.Led asked if Quinn or TD were worried about Beasley being a liability against the run and they both laughed at him shaking their heads saying no not at allI have high expectations that Quinn will not tolerate these benign and asinine questions from Dled like Smitty used too. The guy is intolerable with the idiot questions he poses for our HC.
mrobinson3803
I never really bought the message that it was all Smith/Nolan that wanted to go for big interior DL. I think if Khalil Mack or Clowney got to us last year that would have been our pick. I like others have a problem that TD was "pushed over" so easily if that was the case. He is supposed to be some master scouter from New England. Why did he not push harder for the pass rusher he scouted? I don't think Mike Smith had the authority they led everyone to believe after his firing.
madman88
18 of last 22 picks have been defense.like i said he took HIGH rd picks on offense... jerry, weatherspoon, trufant lofton and alford are the only defensive players TD has took higher then rd 3 since being the GM..How many panned out or is still on the team?Cmon man its so obvious. Wheres thoes 18 defensive players at? The answer to that question is a direct result to why we was the last ranked defense for 2 yrs.. takeitdown
Man, it's been more about the misses.I would like to use the first rounder every year on D or OL. And then repopulate RB, TE, WR, LB with 2nd and 3rd rounders, so we seem to have similar philosophies. But people seem to just gloss over the fact that we haven't taken any developing talent on O in awhile, and let's actually look at the last 2 drafts.2013: Levine Toilolo in 4th, Sean Renfree in 7th.....Every single other pick was D2014: Jake Matthews in 1st, Devonte in 4th...Every single other pick was DIt's been mostly D. Our O is aging and there's little developing talent at WR, TE, RB.What killed was that the 2010 draft, devoted to D and OL, and the 2012 draft, devoted to OL....both bombed. We've just missed.
