JiveAF
I sure hope not. Goodness. If he's falling down and we trade back in the 1st, sure. Or if we trade down. But only if Williams, Fowler, Beasley are gone. Please.
quickzero
Ok. I agree with that. Ray is a pure pass rusher and we need that but we need Leo. someone who can also cover.
DonDaLuvMaker
If the Falcons really want him, then no way they will take the chance on passing on him.At this point, who knows what the Falcons really want to do.So many scenarios.
Jigglypuff
Dude. Just because he is arrested for tiny bit of illegal substance and a minor traffic violation he will not fall far down the draft if at all. Seriously. How far do you think that really affects football ability???? None
End zone Jones
I think it's a total guess, what we do in a few hours...I've never been so confused, about what we could do. Hahaha

AustinFalcon
I will take Ray over Beasley every day of the week. Beasley is the most over gulped player in Draft history ...only on TATF. Nowhere else does he get the love and hype as this board...Smdh.

Jigglypuff
I didn't want him before the arrest.Um I don't want Marcus Mariota but we have no chance to draft him. I would prefer Williams or Fowler or Beasley to Ray but the draft isn't about "wanting" it's a sliding scale you pick what's the best available option

Artys Arryn
If Ray is their guy, I don't have a problem with it. I'd prefer Williams or Beasley personally. But if the front office has talked to Ray and feel comfortable with him at 8, then I'm good. He won't fall to the second IMO. And there has been a lot linking us to him. I just want Quinn to get his guy at 8.

Doubt they'd go through all that trouble if there was nothing to him but hype.
Dyinglobster
Just to note -- Shane Ray was NOT arrested. He was given a citation. The more important take away is that he is one more foot into the league's substance protocol.
Mr. Lubba Lubba©
Dude. Just because he is arrested for tiny bit of illegal substance and a minor traffic violation he will not fall far down the draft if at all. Seriously. How far do you think that really affects football ability???? NoneMost people seem to be upset that this dude can't comprehend that this is the final week of one of the most important spans of time in his life and he can't just put the illegal substance somewhere? So, what about the times where it's not important at all, is he less likely to be caught again with an illegal substance? If you get caught with an illegal substance days before the Draft, you're probably way more likely to get caught with an illegal substance in a random week of the off-season. Then you get suspended a few games, then you might miss a whole season. What good is his physical talent and football ability if he's shown signs that he might not even be allowed on the field? That's why people don't want him. I'm not a psychologist so I don't know if being caught with an illegal substance in one of the most important and crucial times in your career is a precursor to having a legitimate problem, but I can't imagine it having no effect at all. Maybe being with the organization they can counsel him and keep him out of trouble.

Nowhere else does he get the love and hype as this board...Smdh.Not true at all...pretty much all the forums on footballfuture, reddit etc also think that, pretty much every team MB as well. And there are plenty of analysts who love him as well, former players (Stephen White) etc. Todd McShay and Mel Kiper isn't the majority. Even Mayock has him #2 or #3 of the rushers, can't remember which, and Nawrocki had him #12 overall I think. You need to do research before seeing a couple mocks and making blanket statements. The more important take away is that he is one more foot into the league's substance protocol. The only difference between being arrested and cited is that when you are arrested you have to post a bond to be released. Such is not the case if you are cited. Either way, you are charged with a crime and given a court date to appear. And I agree with you .. what is important is where the puts him with the NFL and future suspensions. How far do you think that really affects football ability???? NoneYou're totally, 100% missing the point. It's got NOTHING to do with the criminal charges and EVERYTHING to do with the fact that he now enters phase one of the NFL's substance abuse policy and is one positive test from a mandatory 4 game suspension and two positive tests away from a mandatory one year suspension. Dude .. don't ya think that's kinda important?
bradzilla1
I heard this morning that Ray was busted with $3500 worth of weed in his glove box. That is a little bit more than just some recreational stuff.
ktho
The highway patrol charge was for less the 35 grams. That's $1000.00 a gram! Never seen even close to that. Like $15 - $20 tops. He was obviously not a pro at it, most vacuum seal or put in Tupperware to block the smell.
