MSalmon
RD 1: Vic Beasly (see commentary above) Rd 2. Shaq Thompson , S/OLB Washington 6'2" 231 lbs-Is he a SS? A WLB? Who knows or cares, he's a playmaker. - I see him in a hybrid role at different times as WLB and at SS. Could end up being our long term SS post WillymoRD 3: (traded to Skins)RD 4: Mike Davis RB, South Carolina , 5'9" 228 lbs -has the burst and acceleration to be a premier back. Great agility and receiving ability as well. I love his compact frame--just looks like a NFL back. I've watched him closely and he also has enough speed to break long runs..always keeps legs churning RD 5: Chaz Green OT/G UF 6'5" 314-Plays with open eyes and desired football intelligence. Has a feel for stunts, twists and blitzes and can pick them up. Good initial quickness to get to tough reach blocks and climbs smoothly to second-level blocks. Played left and right tackle at Florida. (From cbssports)--I think he's a LG for us..has positional value as a C potentially --will compet with Stone and Konz for LG spotRD 6: (traded to skins)RD 7: Zach Zenner HB/FB SDSU 5'11" 220-- I think he's a HB tgat can play FB...regardless we need rb depth. And with his vision and top gear could see him integrated into passing game early. RD 7: Max Valles OLB/DE UVA 6'5" 251:--I love drafting a player with length and athleticism in the 7th. Valles is a prospect at best--could get cut or end up on PS. But has great frame and good athleticsm. 9 batted down passes in 2014. Could add weight and develop into a nice edge setter. theProf
1. Pass Rusher: Vic Beasley (alternative: Bud Dupree)Falcons desperately need someone who can get after the QB, which has been missing since John Abraham in his prime.2. Free Safety: Damarious Randall (alternative: Eric Rowe)Quinn covets a Free Safety who can cover a lot of field and who is a sure tackler. Randall is moving up the draftboards rapidly, Mayock nows rates him as the #1 Safety in the draft. I think Southward then gets moved to CB.3. Left Guard: Ali Marpet (alternative: Tre Jackson)Now that the missing pieces for the defense has been shored-up, it's time to turn the attention to the Offense. Atlanta gets its starting left guard to replace Blalock for years to come.4. Running Back: David Cobb (alternative: Mike Davis)Atlanta gets a great complimentary power RB to help share the rushing load with Freeman. Hopefully, Atlanta can now kiss its short-yardage and goal-line rushing woes goodbye.5. Wide Receiver: Mario Alford (alternatives: Ty Montgomery or Darren Waller)Atlanta gets a very speedy wide-out who can really stretch the field, but can also catch contested balls. Atlanta might be able to go ahead and move Roddy into the slot, and use Alford at wideout. He's also a good kick-off returner to boot.6. Cornerback: Nick Marshall (alternative: Tray Walker)Need a little more developmental depth at CB. Converted QB, Nick Marshall has the necessary athletic traits to develop into a good pro CB with time.7a. Nose Tackle: Ellis McCarthy (alternative: Deon Simon)Need a back-up for Soliai at the nose. McCarthy has rare size at 338 pounds. From his scouting report: "has thick lower body and is rarely manhandled by a single block. Has natural strength to leverage his gap and take on double team blocks. Improved hand usage from 2013 to 2014. Flashes ability to collapse pocket as bull rusher."7b. Fullback: Aaron Ripkowski (alternative: Mark Weisman)I think DeMarco needs some competition at FB. I believe that Atlanta's rushing attack could significantly improve with a road-grinding, powerful blocking FB, in a similar vein to Ovie Mughelli in his prime. From his scouting report: "Outstanding size. Knows he is in to be a hammerhead for Sooners' rushing attack and takes great pride in that. Carries good speed and knee bend to his target. Drops low and explodes into linebackers with his outside shoulder, issuing a jarring, powerful pop. Looks for additional work after making first contact." uga_falcons_braves
If Marpet falls to our pick in the third, that would be awesome. Tre Jackson would be the dream get for us but he'll be gone in the 1st rd. I wouldn't mind seeing us coming out of this draft with two OL picks (1 Tackle & 1 Guard/Center).I think it's a must we come out of this draft with an OLB (rush end), RB, Safety & OL. Anything after that is just extra.I don't feel we're in dire need for a DT/DE, so trading up for Williams shouldn't happen, but you never know.I like Beasley, Marpet & Cobb as our first 3 picks. After that, whatever.

LookAboutFalcon
Who I Want1.) Brandon Scherff - OT - instant plug and play impact starter, pair him up with Matthews or move Asamoah to left and put Scherff at right. BPA in my eyes, I don't like any of the top edge rushers in this years draft, we have a mid to lower tier o-line, go with the smart pick and improve the offensive line. Starter2.) Eli Harold - OLB - our leo/edge rusher, high end athlete, has great bend around the corner and great length, someone Quinn can mold into a solid pass rusher. Heavy Rotation3.) Denzel Perryman - MLB - a small heat seeking missile, short in stature, big in heart and his game. We need to move on from Worrilow, nice story but it's time. Eventual starter4.) David Cobb - RB - not the most explosive back, but he brings power which is what we are lacking in the back field. COP from Freeman5.) Senquez Golson - CB - ballhawk slot corner, return man. Spot duty play/special teamer6.) Davis Tull - Edge - High motor, over achiever, project/developmental pick.7.) Joey Mbu - DT - big body run stuffer - developmental pick7.) Malcolm Brown - RB - my sleeper pick
