I know that someone already posted this in another thread, but I don't care. I'm giving it its own thread. This deserves its own thread.

Quinn says he’s pleased with how Lamar Holmes slimmed down in the offseason. Says it was crucial for him to do that to compete.

Suck it haters! laugh.png

So it took a professional football player over two years to figure out he needs to get his fat butt in shape....wow, I'm impressed.

Yes, we've seen progress with Holmes' play; however, he always seemed to tire too quickly.

This makes me feel more confident the RT spot will be solid with Schraeder and Holmes.

I've argued for some time, that Schraeder and Holmes both, made taking an OT in the first two days of the draft unnecessary, and I'm very happy that he's proving me right. smile.png

Good for him. We could always use a good back-up.

He was getting thrown around while he was fat. Now, they are going to bully this skinny kid.

There are scores of very good linemen in the NFL much larger/fatter than Holmes was last year. That said, we are switching to a ZBS where you really don't see many of the larger/fatter OL playing, thus, the switch necessitated the loss in weight.

Lol what? Took him 3 years to do something he we already knew he was suppose to do from the beginning and we are supposed to be impressed? Doesn't change that fact that he is complete garbage. He won't be on the team next year. Book it.

Lol, just one more things for the haters to eat crow on, this time come September wink.png

Holmes actually played quite well before getting injured much improved from his 1st year his run blocking left a lot to be desired but his pass blocking improved quite a bit

long term its his job to lose he has more upside than schraeder he also won the job over schraeder last year and out played him in camp i see no different this season even more so if he's in shape

its not like he was expect to be an all pro day 1

look at mathews last year he was a top 10 pick and his dad was maybe the greatest OT of all time and mathews also had the skills as well to be great then look at his on the feild play injured or not he sucked gave up 10+ sack and a ton of pressures as well but nobodys down on him its funny how some like you expect homles to be a good day 1 starter that which rarely happens in todays game

no but the skills the OLmen need are harder to find

moving to a zone scheme you have to have very athletic mobile linemen which will be very hard to find mathews is really the only one thats a top notch elite level athlete at his position
