NCCooley
Why spend a Number 8 pick on any running back? They average only 3 years in the league and are a dime a dozen for good ones much lower in the draft. Only the Dawg pound homers scream for him, which I sorta understand because he's a home boi, but he is not the second incarnation of Herschel, and NOT worth a number 8 pick. Take a player that will really make a difference, and be here for more than 3 years.

PK Manley
The average career length at any position is 3.3 years. Averages include a lot of players who simply aren't good enough.Gurley is 20 years old, and most top running backs run out of gas around 30. xiv_T_E_C_O_
If you think Gurley is an AP type back, by all means Atlanta pull the trigger. The reasoning though of most of the Gurley fans is very simply put they are Georgia fans first, Falcon fans second. Every other year, if not every year you see threads about draft so n so from UGA... UGA, UGA, UGA... c'mon.
JJC28
Williams and Fowler start Day 1.2 WRs start for ever body else not us.Beasley 3rd down guy and will not start.1 OL guy and he may not start for us.RBs 2 and both would start Day So we are taking Guys that are going to drop like a rock. DonDaLuvMaker
Has anyone really made any potential connection to Gurley being drafted by the Falcons as a possibility? The only ones that I know of was Charles Davis and D-Led. Charles Davis has since moved on from that.Peter King strongly believes that the Falcons aren't drafting Gurley and booked it.

Knight of God
In today's NFL they are with most teams using 2 or 3 and them usually only having 3-4 productive seasons. 4-6 seasons is the overall avg. Says the NFL anyways. Absolute numbers say 3.3yrs.
thanat0s
The NFL has changed. No RB is worth a top 10 pick anymore, the position has been devalued over the last decade. Top 10 picks are reserved for franchise QBs, top shelf left tackles, elite D-linemen/pass rushers, and elite WRs. That's pretty much it.Because everything in the NFL remains the same year after year. At the beginning of the year it was..."No RB is worth a first." now that this has been proven false the narrative has changed. lol

Falcon Man™
Because everything in the NFL remains the same year after year. No, but the league doesn't evolve overnight and as of now it is more of a passing league than anything
