FalconofShadows
Why do you guys want him? we have so much money and players in that Position and to get him we'd most likely lose are 2nd round pick. IF we go with him who would you want as the new LEO

quickzero
Shane ray might be good after this fiascov but as for Williams, hes the type of player you build around. Our defense would improve with him on line. Worrilow an co. Would benefit greatly for sure in the run game. In the passing game they still might struggle a bit if we cant at least hit the quarterback. Dont even care about sacks I just want him running scared. Tribal Chief
Would you rather have too much money tied into the pass rush or receiver group. Don't worry about the money, its not coming out of your pocket my g

Risk with the injury history, but quite possibly (no, not possibly, he is) the best pass rusher in this draft.
Falcon Man™
Leonard Williams is going to be the next JJ Watt (maybe not quite as good, but pretty dam close - and who knows, maybe better than JJ)...

IF we go with him who would you want as the new LEOThe question is who can we get at #8 to be our LEO. You guys take it for granted that there will be a LEO at 8 that we like, but in all likelihood Fowler and Beasley are both gone (and that's if we even li,e Beasley as LEO). Most probably we will have to chose from Dupree who is a very high risk player, or one of the weed guys.

AtlantaFanatic
OP, I used to feel the same way. However Williams does appear to be a monster and we could always cut Babs if we have to. If we are going to trade up. IMO this is the only guy that is safe enough to do it for.

dmo_dlo
I think Williams would play, at least in part, DE for us.
etherdome
I don't advocate moving up but Leonard Williams is believed to be the next Gerald McCoy. Once Soliai and Jackson are jettisoned (2016), Williams would be a great foundation for our DL. The LEO position can be filled in a later round. Quinn has worked with OK talent at that position and has succeeded.

IF we go with him who would you want as the new LEOI really don't care how much money is wrapped up on the current DL, because Jackson or Solailai are not likely to be here after next year anyways, as one of them will get cut. Williams and Hageman could be beasts on the interior for many years to come and could be the elite DL guys. Where as the guys we got last year will never be anything more than mediocre. I'll take the wild crazy push up the middle from 2 huge young guys, as opposed to aging never was all that great to begin with guys we have now. shockerfalcon
I know your Purple means your kidding but honestly Ray wont fall past the ravens no matter whatwith all the negative publicity baltimore has had in the past year it is expected that they will have their own version of the falcon filter in full effect come draft day. Personally I'd be surprised if the snagged ray or Gregory. Their sponsors can't be happy with the rice fiasco and other players run ins with the law

Robb4242
I noticed that the Gurley supporters who scream BPA are silent on Williams, who actually is the BPA in the whole draft. Could it be because getting Williams means giving up a 2nd & 3rd whereas getting Gurley means staying at 8 or even trading back a few slots? The Rock
Williams is overrated. He's not a pass rusher at all. One pressure on 3rd and long, for the entire 2014 season. Most of his plays are made due to his teammates creating havoc, not Williams creating havoc.
Heavy Hitter
With rumors swirling around about the Falcons moving up to possibly get USC DT, Leonard Williams and the fact we have an abundance of salary cap remaining (17M) to go into next offseason with, makes me think Dimitroff might be willing to trade a future 1st to the Raiders if he's available at 4. Especially if Quinn feels good about RB, LG, FS, PR, and ILB going into this year. With 17M not to include the annual increase of the NFL salary cap and potential June 1st cuts (2016) of players like Baker (5.25M), Tyson Jackson (4.75M), and a soon to be 32 year old DT who is not a 3 down player Paul Soliai (5.5M) we will be looking good for FA. We could off set a 1st round pick by getting 1 or 2 impact players like Bobby Wagner, Dez Bryant/D Thomas, or one of the franchise tag pass rushers in FA
Robb4242
I wouldn't want to give up a 2nd or 3rd for anyone but if for some reason Williams drops to 5 or so it wouldn't cost that much to move up. In 2013 the Dolphins game up the #12 pick and their 2nd to move up 9 spots to #3 for Dion Jordan. Moving up 3 spots wouldn't cost that much. A 3rd at the most. I agree. Just consensus thinking right now is to get Williams, we have to go to #3. May not cost a 2nd & 3rd, but at least the 2nd to get to 3. If Williams is there at 5, then its obviously less & just a 3rd may do it like you say & that's worth considering. (and the Fins got a heck of a deal in that trade)
The Real Tony G.
Williams and Hageman on our line is frickin disgusting. That's the makings of a top 3 defense in the league on that front line.
