LookAboutFalcon
Shane Ray you idiot, ughhhh. He was who I wanted since December, now that's out the window most likely. Can somebody sell me on one of the top ranked pass rushers. Vic Beasley, Alvin "Bud" Dupree, and Randy Gregory. I'm very skeptical on these options. Gregory and his potential(don't want to label him) "drug issue" and his weight issue and his lack of production. I don't know why but I see Barkevious Mingo bust potential in Vic Beasley. I just can't explain it, I know he was highly productive and along with Ray he has the best 1st step in the draft. People say we can use him exactly like the Seahawks do with Bruce Irvin and his role. That's fine and all but if you constantly have to scheme for a player to produce I don't think you should be spending a top 10 pick on him. I was against taking Schreff but, know I'm on board even tho i hate the idea of taking a Guard in the top ten. I'm just feeling worried, someone make me feel better. Clark Kent™
Keep in mind Ray is still a possible option in the 2nd. May even work out better for us in the long run.Frank Clark is a mid round pass rusher i really like though.

etherdome
Look at it this way, it is better to know about his faults today than in five months. I like the kid's game too. Maybe he is a viable candidate for our second round pick. At least the team would know what it was getting.
Robb4242
All of them have holes in their game, even Ray. Out of Beasley, Dupree, & Gregory, the only one to pick at 8 is Gregory, but he's got the admitted MJ problem and does not seem to want to give it up. I'd expect him to average about 4 games missed per year over his career at least due to drug tests/failures.Beasley, IMO, has a high "bust" factor. I think he can be an excellent pass rusher, but I think he'll be a 3rd down specialist & not an every down player. Not what you want with the #8 pick in the draft.Dupree, very athletic, also very raw. Probably a year or two (maybe 3 depending on his desire) from being an effective starter. So really not much to choose from with edge rushers now. Fowler will be good, but not worth the price to go up to get him. The ONLY guy in this draft worth trading up from #8 to get is Williams. Although Williams is an interior guy, he can still help improve our pass rush. He's going to command double teams, which will mean fewer blockers against our rushers, which will help them & make our pass rush better. Not ideal, but may be the best option we've got if we're dead set on improving the pass rush with our 1st round pick.Might want to start looking at other positions. Gurley, Collins, or maybe either Cooper/White.
CraigSmackDaddy
I was certain that Ray was our pick at 8 but with the toe and now the Mary Jane I have no clue. At this point I'm hoping we trade back to 12 and choose Gurley. Then use what we get and out 2nd to move back up to the late 1st to get whomever is left as far as pas rushers go, maybe Ray, Harold, or Gregory. Yeah it's doubtful it goes down this way but how I hope it pans out.BTW... Still think Beasley is gone before 8. etherdome
TD, please call Chip Kelly. The opportunity is staring you in the face. Trade down to #20 and pick up Mychal Kendricks and Vinny Curry! Yes, I am obsessed with this move. Draft an OT at #20, a DB at #42 and a RB in the third round. Then, take the best talent on the board from there on out. By Sunday, our defensive personnel problems will have vanished and our offense will finally convert 3rd and short situations again. I wouldn't be upset set with an offensive selection just a little disappointed. I just hope we get a great player. jeffro2000
I thought Ray was our pick too if he was there. If Beasley is there then we should get him.Other than that, maybe we go offense, Gurley, Schreff, White.
Farmer2
I think this all but guarantees TD will trade up, unless he likes Dupree. No way Fowler or Beasley falls to #8 w/ Ray and Gregory free falling.

I am very weary of Fowler, and Dupree's wonderlic is awful... most pass rushers have fairly high ones (the ones that excel, that is). I think Ray will be good but he's doing his best Justin Houston impersonation now (and he might end up almost as good). I think Beasley is the closest thing to a "sure thing" we have... and I highly doubt he falls to us If he doesn't I honestly want us to trade back, get Gurley, and get Harold or Lorenzo Mauldin... or both.
