Knight of God

Gurlie To Atlantie Nowie

Recommended Posts

Nick Chubb is a very talented back, one of the top high school recruits. Him and Gurley both benefit from a great OLine, but both are rare talents in my opinion. That said, I still want Gurley at 8. I know a lot of you say draft one in mid rounds because the zbs can make ok backs good.

Think about how great the zbs can do with an amazing talent.

What great OLine? It was decent, but far from great.

Oh boy. That OL is about avg man...but anyways, I'm not going to have this annoying discussion about the magic ZBS button, Gurley sucks because Chubbs is better, and you can take a 90th rounder and put him back there...

There's an argument that they do have a very good OL, but regardless Gurley is probably the top RB this year and Chubb will likely be a top 3 RB coming out. It's about their own talent more than anything.

I mean, Chubb is just a ridiculous athlete.

Just don't see Gurley being significantly better than a few different 2nd and 3rd round backs, whereas I see a lot of 1st round talent being significantly better than their 2nd and 3rd round counterparts...ie, Beasley/Ray don't compare to Orchard, Hunter, Kikaha and such, but Gurley does compare to Abdullah and Yeldon. Yes, he's arguably better, but with Beasley it's a world of difference. The same way Landon Collins doesn't really compare to other safety prospects (except maybe Eric Rowe).

When you get a first rounder, you expect him to be better than 2nd and 3rd rounders by quite a bit. When you get a top 10 pick, you expect them to dominate compared to their 2nd and 3rd round counterparts. With RB, that just doesn't usually hold true, especially for a draft like this where I think it might be the deepest at RB of all time. The last few years have been awful, so maybe that's affecting my opinion, but I think there are 8-10 RBs with feature back talent here. And several that fit Shanny's plan (imo).

I am just philosophically opposed to a 1st rd RB, much less a top 10 - I would take another shiny hood ornament that can play at elite level for 10yrs vs an elite RB that can play half the number of yrs at a high level.

yep

If there is ANY RB I wouldbbe biased for, it is Gurley - my fav UGA player since Herschel 20+ yrs ago.

We had one of the greatest Falcon edge rushers ever in 2006 and 2007. John As Beater Abraham. We didn't do jack until we got this guy in 2008.

Not sure how the knee is man. I'm just at a place where I really don't believe in any of the options we will be left with if Beasley and ray are gone. Then you have Scherff and Co and while neat, you still need a pass rush and another RB. Unlike most think, you can't always find someone later on. I hope Freeman pans out, but I'm not sold. I am not a UGA fan, in fact I'm a rival. I did watch most of the games last year though because of Gurley. I also like Marshall's heart. Enjoyed Chubb, but not as much.

You always make some honest great points man. You may be right. I was thinking or trying to make an argument for Amari Cooper. LOL, I stopped making draft choices here on the forums after Peria Jerry, man I thought he was going to be as good as SUH turned out being. Maybe he might have if it wasn't for his injuries. You know we hear about the major ones but what they call minor ones in the NFL are having to see an emergency care specialist for the average person.

Should be interesting to see how this all works out. I can't wait until the draft starts.
