Oldskooler
Even if AP would guarantee a Lombardi (because that's worked out so well for the Vikings), what would be the cost? No, I'm not talking about draft picks and/or players. I'm talking about the price of having to cheer for a man that brutally beat a 3 year old boy.I can't link the pics from my phone, so I would appreciate someone doing it for me. But he left almost a dozen open wounds on that boy from his armpit to his knees. I understand that one of his testicles was damaged.I am not opposed to a good sou d whuppin' for punishment. Lord knows I got plenty, from both parents and teachers. And I earned every one of them. But I never was beaten. I was never injured or wounded. I never had tears in my skin and flesh. There is nothing that a 3 year old could have done to even begin to justify such a savage assault. And this was not a "mistake". An honest mistake would be switching him too hard, seeing a wound, and immediately stopping.Instead, Peterson switched him hard enough to leave an open bleeding wound. Then he did it again. Then again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again. And again.Adrian Peterson is a vile and vicious monster. No amount of wins or championships or trophies would make it worth cheering this monster. If we DO trade for him, I will immediately be completely done with the Falcons. I can take losing seasons. I can take having Marion Campbell as our coach because no one else would take the job. I could take the dog-killing. I could take Quitrino's Midnight Ride. But my fandom would never survive acquiring Adrian Peterson.

thanat0s
For the record, I can't count how many whippings I got as a child with a switch (that's how it's done in the country), but I can assure you it wasn't abuse, and I earned every one of them. I got whupped with a cotton stalk more times than I could count! And the principal had a big thick paddle with holes drilled in it. And after getting a whupping at school, my mom gave me another when I got home. But I never ended up with marks like that. Never.

coastiemike
He made a mistake. But, since in your opinion mistakes should never be forgiven and second chances never given, why don't we just go ahead and put him to death. You know, because he is a "vile and vicious monster." /sarcasmI hope when you make your first mistake, people will be more kind and try to give you a second chance. Never.I guess my definition of abuse is beating (punching), burning and breaking. It's also probably because I've seen abused people. Busted lips, broken arms, black eyes and the like. This silly society we live in will murder babies and electrocute it's citizens without a second thought, and act like the world is coming to and end because a kid got swatted with a paddle. I just can't assign any bigger outrage to this incident than than I can to those other things just because it's hyped onto the front page. Clark Kent™
He aint coming here anyways. I wouldn't be opposed to it if he did though. I got switched all the time when i was younger. My dad used to jack me up and i was ALWAYS left with markings. Switches leave marks every time, unless your dad hits as hard as FFS1970 probably does. Granted this was like 15-20 years ago back when society was much different. Having said that, i wasn't as young as AP's kid and i 100% agree he was wrong, but i 100% disagree that he is a "vile and vicious monster". He is probably just doing what was done to him as a child. But yeah he aint coming here anyway.

Every time that you'd open up the silverware drawer it was there. I still have a perfect image of that drawer too. We apparently threw it away when I was in my teens though. Mr. Hoopah!
He's paid his dues and should get another shot in the NFL. I don't want him here because he's on the wrong side of 30 and I'm ready for some young RB's. With that being said, I don't think there's a single poster here that didn't get paddled, spanked, or hit with a switch while growing up. But I never, and I sincerely hope none of yall did either, got switched on the privates.

Woe be to you if you brought back a flimsy one!Man, I was in a family of 5 kids, and I was the middle one. We'd all screw up, and they'd line us up, going from oldest to youngest. The oldest went first and had to watch everyone else after, while the youngest went last and had to watch all the older ones go one at a time, but since I was the middle kid, I always had to both watch the first ones before mine, and watch the last ones after mine.
