FalconFanSince1970
I don't really care where we get him. First round. Last round. Free agency. Trade. Don't care. We need a 5-8 year guy.I've been watching the Atlanta Football Falcons for a long time. When we had a franchise RB, we won more games. We've been to the playoffs 12 times. We had a franchise back in 10 of those years. We had Bubba and Broussard in the other two. Andrews - 1979-1986 (8) - 8633 yards, 4.6 ypc, 41 TDsRiggs - 1982-1988 (7) - 8015 yards, 4.2 ypc, 48 TDsAnderson - 1994-2001 (8) - 6981 yards, 4.0 ypc, 41 TDsDunn - 2002-2007 (6) - 7616 yards, 4.2 ypc, 36 TDsTurner - 2008-2012 (5) - 6538 yards, 4.3 ypc, 61 TDs Wise up mofos. JJC28
Oh you will have 1 Chris Johnson and Freeman will get the job done. Maybe they will draft another in the 4th or 5th.
DarrellShropshire
There are no such things as franchise backs. They last 4-6 years then they're done. Cram the ball down Devonta's throat and get another RB when his wheels start to fall off. It's a position with a ridiculous turnover rate. DarrellShropshire
Gurley is a special, generational talent. But I need a RB in the 1st, like I need a tumor on my left nut.

JJC28
freeman will lead is to some good ol TJ lol I know our QB is tuff but when good ol Freeman whiffs a block and he did that at least 3 times last year our QB might not get up. FalconFanSince1970
Running game is coming back. We don't have one.Yall Madden boys need to listen to me. I used to play Madden back in 2004.As beater. How did I win? Run ball. Play defense.Comin back.
Francis York Morgan
Agree. Going to be reviewing RBs exclusively in my free time this next week, maybe throw a few videos together. Don't want to keep watching edge rushers, just gets me annoyed with the majority of them, even though I love several.

Just the talent in the draft got better...hmmm...

HEIST
I'm torn between Abdullah and Yeldon right now.Abdullah is electric, but I kinda want a bigger back.Yeldon has lost a lot of steam. I remember when he and Gurley were considered in the same tier. He reminds me of Foster.
Knight of God
Yeldon is a perfect fit if you ignore the Bama backfield hate.
youngbloodz
What franchise back did New England have this year? Did Seattle win their Super Bowl with defense or Marshawn Lynch?
hjerry
Jamal Anderson was the last back that started on a consistent basis, who was actually drafted by this franchise.Dwell on that for a moment.
Clark Kent™
We don't have to have a "franchise" back to win a SB. The NFL is always evolving. We just need a better running game. Which we can get from Devonta, Antone, and a back in just about any round. Doesn't matter if its a "franchise" back who gets 300+ carries or if its a RBBC. WornOutFalconFan
but NOT ONE of those ran behind this current O-line ---nor could theyit's hard to gain yards when 2 defenders are in the backfield BEFORE the handoffSo true. When you watch football on TV the camera always focuses on the ball and not the line.Maybe that's why so many folks focus on RB's and WR's and not the trenches where the majority of football is won or lost.Every time we see a RB topic I guess we can counter with an O-line topic.Jesus would have a hard time running behind our line from last year. falconidae
Even assuming that you don't like any of the pass rushers at 8 [not my assumption, but obviously the OP's], best thing is to draft an Olineman at 8, an edge rusher at 42 and a RB w/ the 3rd rounder.Draft Schreff at 8, much better odds than he has a decade plus career and is an anchor for the Oline for years, as opposed to any RB making it to his 5th year as an effective runner. lju713
We are IMO a LG and RT away from being a elite offense. With that said a good RB would bring that 2012 version of Matty Ice out the box.

It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they picked up two in the draft, one to start and the other to keep everyone else looking over their shoulder and playing hard.I don't know how good our luck is picking a pass rusher in the first.
