rollo lawson
When I watched Mizzou play last year, it seemed to me that Markus Golden was just as disruptive as Shane Ray. He would be a very interesting pick up later if we traded back and accumulated extra picks. He plays fast and nasty. Plus he has dreads, lol!! DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
No he's not. Not even close.A few disappointing 3-cone times means we're making **** up now?So lazy.
falconcrest58
Sure he is that's why all the experts have him ranked ahead of Ray ....they know best
Absolute
This argument reminds me of the people trying to compare Kony Ealy and Michael Sam last season. No thanks!
rollo lawson
I'm talking about how the guy makes plays on the field. This has nothing to do with Ray's 3 cone drill time. Markus Golden is a football player and thats taking away nothing from Shane Ray.

rollo lawson
Quick question. Did any of you actually watch any Missouri games last year? Or are you going off of McShay and Kiper? I don't know exactly where he is projected to go, but I know, based on the games I watched, he lived in the offensive backfield.

See this is my problem with him...what do u do on 1st and second down? He can't stop the run if his life depended at this point he can't. We get him he is getting the dion Jordan treatment yr 1 u can bet on it

Effort guy with no real moves, no electric aspects, nothing that makes him stick out. I wouldn't even draft him in the seventh personally. He's very much a TD late round pick where they might think he'll be decent on special teams but he won't ever be a good pass rusher.
atlGM
I like Golden as well and would love to have both of them. Ray is better at athletically but Golden reminds me of a baby Mcphee

Shane Ray Three-cone drill: 7.71 secondsMarkus Golden 3-cone: 7.38 seconds I guess your using that new math cause last time I checked 7.3 is better then 7.

Didnt G-Dawg post earlier referencing Mayock's assertion that Beasley and Ray will initially have problems stopping the run on 1st and 2nd down? Besides, no one is saying draft Golden at #8. Francis York Morgan
You just described Kroy Bierrman.Kind of, the effort bit at least. Biermann was pretty creative as a pass rusher coming out of college and had really good change of direction, even though he had a really low ceiling. Not the worst rotational piece ever, I can see why we drafted him where we did. Golden probably won't make most teams practice squads imo

Ray had the disappointing time so people do not like him as much now.Your math is ok, but your reading comprehension is garbage.
Clark Kent™
Who is the better pro prospect is the only thing that matters and Shane Ray is by far the better pro prospect.
Hashbrown3
I think everyone is correct here. Ray is better. But it's hard to look at Ray's tape and not notice that Golden was all over the place showing up and disrupting and making plays. He might be a really nice value pickup for a team. To me it's all an educated crap shoot.
