Falcons, in the past 5ish years, haven't been very good while rested. They seem to play best while under pressure. It seems every bye week results in a poor game following.

Mike Smith's staff were the kings of over-thinking, and out-coaching themselves. We played our best on short weeks, especially Thursday nights and West Coast trips where we had to simplify the game plans.

So our perception was reality when we were complaining about the unfairness of our schedule.

We had 10 more games against teams coming off a bye or Thurs night than the Saints in the same period of time.
