Flip Wilson
He said Gregory, Ray, and Beasley are all undersized but Alvin Dupree as he called him is the right fit. I respect Kirwan's opinion far more than McShay or Kiper.

If the guy can play, they can play, agreed. My only caveat is this: Beasley/Gregory/Ray were all "hand in the dirt" defensive ends in college - they won't be in the NFL. So it is "fair" to call them undersized for defensive ends - who will be shifting to more of an outside linebacker position in the NFL - can they do it? maybe/probably - but theirs' are not pure projections that they will not be asked to do the exact same things in NFL that they did in college. Osiruz
I dont get the dupree love, he's the right weight and is a workout warrior but so was gholston. Edited April 16, 2015 by osiruz
Halsey.
According to the sites I check, Freeney, Hughes and Dumerville were all 255+ at their respective combine.
DonDaLuvMaker
I dont get the dupree love, he's the right weight and is a workout warrior but so was gholston.I don't know, Dupree could very well become a very good edge rusher.I heard Charles Davis say yesterday on Path to the Draft that Dupree has never had the luxury of playing in the same defensive scheme each year that he has been at Kentucky. He said that he belived that it hurt Dupree's production because he never had time to settle into a defesive scheme.I found that interesting. Flip Wilson
Guys......He's not just saying undersized in general. He is saying undersized for this particular system. He is talking specific to the Falcons needs.
Oldskooler
Dupree is no simpe "workout warrior". His athletic dominance is obvious on the field. It is hampered by his lack of technique.
maxatlanta
Quinn wants length. So while that makes Beasley undersized, it leaves Gregory as being well suited for the position. Gregory fits LEO best, so much so that there's a chance we roll the dice.Ray is a little bit stiff in his movement, but would be fine sizewise. I have to admit, Dupree is the only one I have real reservations about (but at least he has an icredible ceiling?). As far as DL goes, I'm gonna be happy regardless because I trust DQ's judgement. Absolute
Could Dupree be this year's Mack? If we pick him, I sure as **** hope his impact is the same.

He looked like a backup.

dirtyhairy
Bud Dupree is a big man and makes alot of big plays. Is he better then say Beasley or Ray? They're **** close. I'd rank him 3rd. If Gregory's there, I'd take Gregory, but then you have his weed issue and that could end up blowing back in our faces.
Knight of God
I dont get the dupree love, he's the right weight and is a workout warrior but so was gholston.Gholston was on roids and really didn't love football. I doubt Dupree is on roids. Most of those workout warrior stories had a roid ending...
etherdome
I dont get the dupree love, he's the right weight and is a workout warrior but so was gholston. Yes, he performed well at the Combine, but he also produced in college (in the SEC). Look at his film and you see a guy that was asked to do a lot more than just pin his ears back and rush the passer. I don't think that we can label Dupree a simple Workout Warrior. He may not look pretty getting there but he gets there on athleticism and want to. Edited April 17, 2015 by Sobeit
vel
My only qualm with Dupree is his lack of development over four years. He didn't sit on the bench until this year like Ray. He got playing time since he stepped on campus and he's still this raw. You can try and blame it on poor coaching, but experience alone should have him more developed than this. He's got decent hand use....when he uses it. That shows me he's learning from somewhere. He should be a lot better than he is and that's what has a lot of people on his bandwagon, because of this potential to be a lot better than he is. I just don't think he will ever hit his ceiling. I think his max is a 6 sack type of guy who is more utility player than ace pass rusher. Look at Bruce Irvin. Dupree is a bigger Irvin in my opinion. I'm not saying Irvin is a bad player. But Irvin never lived up to that #15 pick value they overdrafted him at. I don't think that defense misses a step without Irvin. If I'm picking #8, I DAM sure don't want an Irvin type of impact from my guy. The same things people are saying about Dupree "playing to many spots" is the same thing they said about Dion Jordan.
