Oldskooler
Alvin "Bud" Dupree. In evaluating a player, it is important to focus on both the strengths and the weaknesses of the player. I believe that Dupree is the best prospect for us at #8. Better than Gregory, better than Ray, maybe even better than Beasley or Fowler.I can't link from my phone at work, but go to YouTube and look up "The Film Room Ep 05: Alvin "Bud" Dupree". It gives a good, detailed analysis of what Dupree does well, and what his weaknesses are.His arms are a little shorter than many would like, but that is not a huge limitation. His technique is awful. Just awful. He almost never uses his hands. He wins or loses strictly on speed and power. That is coachable. He was often dropped into zone coverage, and operates comfortably and fluidly in space. He turns and pursues more smoothly than many db's. He is faster than Amari Cooper, despite weighing 270. He ragdolls te's and some ot's with his strength. He sacrificed personal stats to fit himself to the defense's scheme. He was a team captain. His technique deficiency is easily coachable, and he showed coachability in college. He has the best combination of strength, speed, and comfort in coverage of any prospect in the draft. Alvin "Bud" Dupree is our best option at #8. I don't even think it is worth the risk of trading back and hoping he slides to us.

Herr Doktor
Since I watch almost no college ball and my knowledge of most college players is negligible, I would be interested in someone on this board with much more knowledge then I to make a seven round mock of athletic freaks. Bearing in mind our basic needs and projected round valuations. It would be interesting.
maxatlanta
There are several other guys that dont require us projecting improvement to justify the pick. And I think Beasley will be there anyways.
The Rock
Two things, He's not faster than Cooper, and against Florida Dupree got rag dolled by a TE and it had nothing to do with being off balance.Dupree=combine warrior but nothing more. He has bad tape and bust written all over.
FentayeJones
All I know is folks on this board said the same stuff about Anthony Barr last year; said he would be a bust, said he had no technique not worth a top 10 pick, called him JA98 2.0 and he balled out in Minnesota last year.Folks on this board could not see past Clowney and Mack last year just like folks cant see past Beasley this year.If DQ take Dupree at 8 I would trust his assessment; hes been developing good Dline players for a long long time.. RHEC
Dupree would be a dud imo.
Oldskooler
4 year starter with no technique, short arms, no bend. No thx at 8.Technique can be taught. That is, in fact, Quinn's speciality.32" arms isn't "short". Less than ideal, but certainly not debilitating. His strength and speed and explosiveness are attributes that cannot be coached, and provide the tools for dominance. His experience and ability to drop into zone coverage is a huge bonus.Dupree is the best pick we can make, even more so than Beasley, in my opinion. Oldskooler
Dupree would be a dud imo.The opinion of a Mighty Morphin' Power Ranger will be given all the respect and consideration it deserves.Which is zero.Do you have some reason or rationale for saying he will be a bust? Or have the Vapors Of Heavenly Wisdom whispered this in your ear?
Butudontseeme™
The pick will be Beastley or Gregory. I'd bet a months salary on it.
Tribal Chief
Do you have some reason or rationale for saying he will be a bust?not saying him but based on alot of people's post that don't provide reasoning, I'm assuming it's because the names being brought up simply aren't the person they personally want

They aren't being considered at #8 though.

Kaptain Krazy
Honestly, it's going to take a really out-of-nowhere selection (someone nobody has named) for me to be upset. Because i believe Quinn will be the ultimate decision maker on draft day, especially the early rounds, i'm willing to give the Falcons the benefit of the doubt. It's not like me whining and complaining will change anything anyway.Whomever Quinn thinks is good enough at #8, is good enough for me until proven otherwise on the field.
