Mitch Morse Oline Mizzou

Recommended Posts

See, we do not have to burn the #8 on Scherff, makes no sense....usually a top ten pick you want to burn on a franchise LT something Scherff does not project to in the NFL ....

To me is a huge head scratcher the # of posters here calling for him at 8 ....a guy like Morse is very comparable and could possibly be had in the 4th round....he played all across the line at Mizzou, was forced to LT due to injury, but like Scherff projects to the inside in the NFL, but has enough skill set to slide across the O line....skill set projects well to G in ZBS...

He started as a center and could play center in the NFL ....but ended up as the Tigers LT due to need .....there are several others like him in this draft, Arie, Cedric, etc. that would transition and make excellent plug and play guards....burning the 8 on Scherff just makes no sense....

Morse is a guy with a big up arrow that strikes me as a guy to have a long steady NFL career.......just say no to Scherff at 8 ....

i think i heard Mayock talking good about him as a late prospect and sees him as long term starter at RT

I think the guy is very under rated but is rising.......Scherff is better, but the pick value of a guy like this is much better......I could see him having almost as good a career as Scherff .....starting to think is more and more possible Beasley could fall to us, then could proceed to fill holes with solid picks like this....

You're trying to explain to somebody else about pick value?

He's a fourth rounder and very good on paper. I love this one man.

STRENGTHS: Like Justin Britt, Morse is a functional athlete whose strengths are his patience, power and tenacity. Morse has above average initial quickness and shows balance while he "chucks" his way back in pass protection. Morse shows good patience, allowing the defender to get near him before showing a quick, powerful punch to latch and control opponents. He plays with his knees bent, helping him to absorb bull rushes and plays on his toes, allowing him to slide laterally to mirror. Morse is attentive and can handle switching off on twists and unexpected blitzes. As a run blocker, Morse is at his best turning and sealing defenders with his initial quickness or simply driving them off the ball with power. He has good (but not great) quickness and balanced when dropping back into pass protection, as well as when pulling or sprinting out to block defenders at the second level.

WEAKNESSES: He is a bit top-heavy and struggled a bit with speed rushers while at both right and left tackle. He does not possess elite balance and foot speed in his kick-slide, though he's competitive and relatively long and therefore competitors must beat him off the edge; he doesn't give it up easily. Morse will lunge to protect the edge, however, and in doing so drop his head, leaving him vulnerable to swim and spins. Though he shows impressive straight-line speed to the second level, Morse's slightly top-heavy frame and average core flexibility cause him to struggle when needing to adjust to moving targets and too often he misses these blocks.

I like Shaq Mason out of tech for a mid round guard. Athletic, and bullies people at the second level. Pretty raw as a pass blocker. Could slide him in at RG and let Asamoah play LG.

He has a highlight video

I like Shaq Mason a lot as well heist.

When I watch Mitch More play, I see erratic foot placement with an awkward kick slide. Easy to knock him off balance. But whenever he gets a solid base he's very good. He just struggles to set and keep his feet underneath him.
