atljbo
http://www.rosstucker.com/wp/podcasts/ross-tucker-football-podcast/Very good listenSidenote... John Harbaugh talked about Shane Ray in there predraft press conference yesterday(HARBAUGH) “Well, it’s timely. Ozzie came in … I was on the treadmill earlier than Ozzie today – Ozzie is in there early, man. We had a conversation about Shane Ray, which is kind of intriguing. We both like him. What jumps out first of all is his motor, right? This guy has an unbelievable motor. He’s going to get plenty of NFL sacks just because he’s going to keep coming relentlessly. And then he’s a leverage rusher with subtle speed to work the edges. He can work the edge of an offensive tackle like few other guys. So, he’s an interesting guy. The second part of it, that probably goes to Eric.”

He ran a 4.8, 4.86 and 4.9 40 and weighed 257 pounds. He had a nine-foot broadjump and 32 1/2-inch vertical. Had Suggs, a defensive end, run in the 4.7 range, he might have been a top three pick. Now, he has teams wondering if he's quick enough off the corner in the NFL as a pass-rusher.film trumps all you dont want a slow guy but you can tell football speed looking at a guy play
freebird310
Gregory just screams bust ........you guys should evaluate these prospects for yourselves instead of blindly buying into the media hacks exalted opinions......there are actually a few guys at TATF with better insight ..... But killed Ereck Flowers (for that debate that said Flowers handled Gregory)Questions about where to play Ray and his flexibility.Dupree compares to Jamie Collins. There is a reason why Gregory is late off the snap. There is no way that you can be the first off the snap when you are reading the OT. When he is reading the ball, he is actually pretty quick off the snap. He reads the OT because his coach tells him to. He has a lot of discipline.

If he can clean up his technique and add 20 lbs, he'll be the most complete defensive stud this draft, even over Beasley. Debatable whether he can be a better pass rusher though, and he does have both injury history and a history of failed drug tests (yes, a history, even before the combine). So there's some risk involved.
FalconOdense
What I like the most about Shane Ray compared to the others is his attitude and anger he plays with. I think we are missing that kind of mentality on this defense. If he is the best pass rusher or not I am not qualified to say.

Bobby.Digital
Greg Cosell can evaluate players 100x better than you can. If Greg Cosell says that Gregory is a high first round talent, then he's a high first round talent. End of story.Greg Cosell thinks Gregory is late of the snap when it's clear as day he's reading the tackle. If he can't see that then I don't know what to say. Monolith2001
Greg Cosell thinks Gregory is late of the snap when it's clear as day he's reading the tackle. If he can't see that then I don't know what to say. It's a fair point to say he was doing tackle reads but can he reliably and consistently perform the more aggressive reads. We know that Beasley and Ray can. Dupree looks like he may be pretty good at it too. In the end it will be about what Quinn wants.
Francis York Morgan
Well he is late off the snap a lot but that's usually by design as you said. If want to discredit Cosell based on that then you obviously don't know who Greg Cosell is and the expertise he brings to the table. The only people that can challenge Cosell on player evaluations are Mike Mayock or people making the big bucks (GMs, high level scouts, NFL coaches). The biggest problem is his consistency with it. He actually is pretty slow off the snap sometimes even when reading the tackle, everyone's just taking that film room vid as gospel. There'll be plays where he explodes off, others where he doesn't at all and it doesn't match up with the tackle necessarily either. But once he gets that consistency down he'll be fine in that facet.if we draft him I will destroy my Falcon cave in an orgy of rage....
