% Chance Ish Beats Out Moore At Ss?

Recommended Posts

Open competitions everywhere right? Only position with a good starter and good backup that could be an upset. Really liked the way Ish played down the stretch and Quinn will never in his life have him 1 on 1 deep so no worries there. Moore has been good but I think Ish needs at least 50% of the snaps at SS while they split time as the nickel LB/3rd S this year too.

When you say they split 50 percent of the snaps at SS, to me that means Moore will still be on the field at FS. They both along with southward and a draft pick will be getting plenty of reps at all those positions you mentioned including FS. I love the potential of our DBs. But Moore will not get beat out. Willy Mo will always start for this team barring an injury of course.

If you can play one safety then you can play the other safety. Whether your position is SS or FS sometimes the safeties on the field have to switch responsibilities based on the quick adjustments made before the snap. I would want to see our two best safeties on the field at the same time, and unless we draft a superstar safety that's going to be Moore and Ishmael together on the field at the same time.

We do need depth and competition though, I agree with that 100%.

I don't believe that if Quinn even remotely implements a "Seattle-like" 43 under here. In that defense, each safety has a clear profile. The SS is a big hitting, often used as a "rover/LB" type near the line of scrimmage and has length and bulk. The FS is literally a "centerfielder" roving guy who ain't afraid to tackle but has great range and speed. Alford almost fits the FS role to a T if they move Dez to cb.

Ish is neither long, nor a big hitter. Depth guy..,maybe 3 safety looks on occasion...don't see his fit.

A healthy Willymo is a great candidate at SS

Willy Mo, as long as he's healthy, will continue starting. He plays like chancellor when he can get himself on the field. Dan Quinn has already spoken to WillyMo and told him that he is exactly what he is looking for in a player.

**** yeah Quinn runs an attacking defense. Moore is an attacking safety its always what he was best at.
