Lance Zierlein Has Us Taking

Recommended Posts

OT Andrus Peat at #8. Definitely a surprise pick. He said he would move Jake Matthews over to RT and put Peat at LT and have our O line set for years. (Fowler, Ray, Beasley gone)

I do love the idea of having our OT's set for the remainder of Ryans career and i had Scherff in my mock so i don't hate the idea. I just don't know if Peat is the absolute #1 OT i'd go with.

No offense, but who in the heck is Lance Zierlein? Sounds like some kind of Russian ice skater or something.

I believe is just a talk show host and does a lot of draft analysis. I saw a video the other day he was dissecting Scherff tape and he mentioned his dad was an O line coach in college and in the pros.

I'd rather Scherff. We don't have an OT problem.

Whoa a second there. I'm not saying we should draft an OT in the first round, but Schrader is an udfa that looked like he might have potential. We do still have Holmes. But to say that we are set at OT is really stretching it.

Obviously I'm not a fan of this O-line at all to say the least and am very much in favor of upgrading the entire O-line

However (I read that) Schraeder was rated as the #3 pass blocking RT in the NFL for 2014

Why would you want to replace him?/ Just teach him to run block

Schraeder played well in a few games, but I think people are jumping the gun on saying he's the answer. He was awful against Carolina and there wasn't a lot of film on the guy. Counting on Undrafted free agents and late round picks got us in this mess to begin with. He may be the answer, but he may not.

If a draft prospect had film performing against nfl level comp with the success Schraeder had last year they probably would be a 1st round pick. Now factor in that he didn't play highschool football and only played 3 years of college ball. This guy may well be our Brent Grimes on the OL. And many called for Grimes to be replaced too while he was learning and adapting to the NFL.

I knew he had a played very well towards the end of the year but didn't realize it was that high (based on PFF).

I would even say that his RB would probably improve regardless because of the switch to a ZBS. The only real question with him is the unknown factor cause he hasn't played a full season. I do think that Peat at LT and Matthews at RT would be the superior O line, but i don't think thats more of a need than Scherff who could play LG or RT and maybe even LT.

we dont? Matthews was ranked near the bottom of the league last year. Even before the injury. And Schraeder hasnt really proven that much. Hopefully Matthews plays much better this year but to say we are set at OT when we dont have anyone that has ever proven a thing in the NFL is a bit off.
