Capitalist
http://cover32.com/falcons/2015/04/06/there-is-only-one-real-choice-for-the-atlanta-falcons-in-the-first-round/I like Gurley... And think he would be a great PR angle for PSL sales...But pass rush is TOO urgent, esp. after weak free agency...
CTann
I cannot wait until the draft is over so the Gurley talk will finally come to a halt. Goodness gracious.
PokerSteve
For casual fans of the Falcons, Gurley would no doubt offer a much more attractive reason to buy a PSL and ST's than Vic Beasley or Fowler or Ray. But people who are more serious fans will probably feel, as I do, that having one of the top edge rushers would be a much more valid reason to purchase a PSL and ST's.The question is, how many casual fans are going to want to blow that kind of cash on PSL and ST's anyway? Probably only the very rich ones who would buy said PSL's and ST's as a perk for clients. I'd say they would definitely be Gurley fans by name recognition and because he would add more excitement to our offense. But having said that, I don't believe the vast majority of PSL's will be purchased by these type fans, and the FO will not be taking Gurley in the first as a means to sell PSL's and ST's. hjerry
For those not in the know:Todd Gurley is a RB who played for the University of GA. He is eligible for this year's draft.
kingslasher
I'd rather have a Katy Perry lap dance at halftime. That would be great for PSL sales. Plus we don't have to waste a draft pick and her ACL is undamaged. Bring her home TD! Baby, I'm a Fiiiiire-work!
Halsey.
People do realize that the Falcons have more than one Draft pick, right?
fed up !!!
To all the Gurley lunatics in this forum ... Please, let Todd take you out to "dinner" so you can get it out of your system already...
citsalp
Building a winning team will sell more PSL's than any single player. Look at the Atlanta Hawks, they win the place is packed. Could a single player maybe had a more immediate impact on Hawks ticket sales possibly, but in the long term winning is what brings in the fans. thanat0s
Drafting an exciting player sells tickets. Fans typically don't care as much about winning a ton of games. They just want to be entertained. I would refer you to the Vick years. The whole city was jacked 24/7 for the team, and it sure wasn't due to scoreboard success.

thanat0s
Also, just to put this out there for all the people who prefer to be accountants rather than football fans, Gurley in the return game makes Hester's salary expendable.
thanat0s
And thirdly, while I don't specifically advocate taking Gurley, it would more than mildly amuse me if they did, just so I can watch all the blind homers melt down like green army men in a microwave. peterpiper
The only thing that would help sell PSLs is winning. Period. If Falcons drafted Gurley and only win 6 games next year PSLs are going no where. Falcons need to be winning 10+ games a year on a consistant basis quickly or this whole stadium deal is going to back fire. I know everyone on this board is a fan but we all know the truth. Atlanta is a city of transplants and they only come to the games if you are winning. I have been a season ticket holder since the Fulton County Stadium days and have seen it both ways. Gurley wont make a difference either way PSL wise. Wins and Losses will.

If anything the homers want Gurley more. Yknow. Because GEORGIA.Also, if we use Gurley in the return game and risk him getting injured more easily, along with piling up more hard collisions so early in his career, we're the stupidest football team in existence. The former are understandable since college fans are much more passionate. The latter wouldn't know what to do with themselves if the DQ messiah did something they weren't onboard with... Of course, he will probably be going a buck fifty on us as a member of the opposition.
