xSICKxWITHxITx
He's on NFL AM and they asked him which teams have shown the most interest in him. He said the Falcons were one of about 5 teams.
Oldskooler
He keeps popping up in a lot of my mocks. But I seem to remember the Falcons taking guys they DIDN'T show pre-draft interest in, and passing guys the HAD shown interest in.

But I seem to remember the Falcons taking guys they DIDN'T show pre-draft interest in, and passing guys the HAD shown interest in.This is very true. Sometimes, if a team doesn't have any questions or reservations about a player, they won't even invite them in for a visit. They do this because they already see the film and have heard no joe gator things. That is why Kevin White only has 1 private workout set. He is as clean of prospect as you will get this year, when you combine game tape and character.
freebird310
So many good guards in this draft that taking Scherff at 8 does not make much sense to me.....
Duff_Man
With all of the "Gurley vs Pass Rush" talk, it seems like the fans are forgetting the gaping hole at LG. Not that the Falcons need a 1st rounder, but it is an issue that needs to be addressed.
FentayeJones
If he is still there when we pick in the 3d, I can definitley see us taking him.

Oldskooler
In my mocks, he's almost always available in the third, and sometimes the fourth.
FalconFanSince1969
So many good guards in this draft that taking Scherff at 8 does not make much sense to me.....So many good rbs in this draft that taking todd Gurley at 8 makes no sense to me. Bruce Asians said this is the deepest draft in a decade at rb.
g-dawg
So many good guards in this draft that taking Scherff at 8 does not make much sense to me.....^^^this.there will be a really nice guard to get w/ our early 3rd rounder.
Artys Arryn
^^^this.there will be a really nice guard to get w/ our early 3rd rounder.Exactly this. This is a pretty good draft for interior oline guys and we can get a starter in round 3. If we could get a good starting pass rusher in the 3rd, I wouldn't be so adamant for taking one in the 1st. Tre Jackson, Ali Marpet, or Arie Kouandjio would be an instant upgrade.
uga_falcons_braves
I love that we're all talking about addressing the OG position later in the draft vs. using 8 on Scherff. People have fallen in love with the guy and trust me I get it, but there's too high of a gaping hole at rush end to go OG that soon when there are others we could get later. Lornoth
I really like the idea of going OG in the 2'nd. I prefer Cann but would be very pleased with a number of others. Jackson could be a fall-back, though I might hope he falls to the 3'rd.
takeitdown
That's the problem with this draft and our needs. There are 4 (or more) positions we could fill with an early third rounder...but we only have the one.I'd love a 3rd round OG, 3rd round WR, 3rd round RB, 3rd round CB. 3rd is basically a great spot to fill some of the offensive positions we dropped (Jackson, HD, Blalock). I'd love to somehow get a couple extra 3rds. Seems like a really good spot this draft...picks 60-85 or so.
rollo lawson
I like Tre Jackson. Plus he wants to be a Falcon.

There is a very good, very real chance that the pass rushers available at #8 will be picked-over, flawed remnants not worth the #8 overall pick.In other words, we may have a JA98 v2.0.I am of the opinion that neither Gregory nor Ray can make it in the NFL. If those are our options, I would like to trade back, pick up an extra second, and draft Dupree or Harold.Failing that, taking a Sherff or some other position of less perceived need that still nets us an upgrade and a long-time starter beats JA98 v2.0. The O.D.B
I love Tre's size, Run blocking and ability to hustle but, his pass protection looks scary. Over and over he gets driven into the backfield, which shouldn't be happening to a guy his size. He's not giving up sacks but, what happens when the guys he's facing are even bigger, stronger and more crafty? I think it's a toss-up between him a Matias. Matias is an adequate run blocker and pretty good pass pro. Tre is a road-grading run blocker and good but scary pass pro. I'll take Matias for the value pick.
