Unknøwn
DOB says Outman may be placed on the DL soon. He speculated the Braves are just using him as a placeholder while they try to add another bench guy. Most likely one that can play CF
K26dp
Reports coming in that Melvin Upton traded to Padres. Not a drill.
K26dp
Upton and Kimbrel to Padres for Cameron Maybin, Carlos Quintin, and the 41st draft pick.

Dawggone
I can't stand getting shed of Kimbrel.
Psychic Gibbon
Sucks to see Kimbrel go but if it means getting rid of Wren's last major **** up then so be it.
K26dp
Yep P Matt Wisler and OF Jordan Palouchek also coming to the Braves. Nothing announced yet.Wisler was rated the #44 prospect overall by Baseball America.Still waiting for the final word, but if this is true it could be a great trade for Atlanta. Roddy84
Why do people say its a good trade? Was just looking at stats and neither look much better than BJ

AF89
The main gain is getting rid of Melvin. Just sucks we had to part with the best closer in baseball to do it. It's the right move though. We aren't in a position to seriously compete and by the time we are Kimbrel will likely have taken a step back, so why not sell while his stock is high, getting rid of Upton and bringing in a prospect and pick to boot. WOR
If wisler lives up to his potential this will be amazing for us. #2 starter isn't a bad trade off for a closer IMO.
Psychic Gibbon
Why do people say its a good trade? Was just looking at stats and neither look much better than BJThey can get rid of both Maybin and Quentin after this season so taking on that sunk cost in a rebuild year to get rid of a longer term sunk cost is worth it. It's also nice that we have reportedly gotten two decent prospects and a draft pick out of this. It obviously sucks to lose Kimbrel but I am more than fine with the move. Falconsfan567
Don't be that guy. You're better than that.I haven't been pleased with these trades, any of them. It seems to me that John Hart is making trades just for the he!l of it. Where's the elite super prospects the Braves should be getting back for the elite talent they've traded off? Nowhere to be found. All the prospects the Braves got back in these trades are good players at best and never going to make it at worse. None of them are locks to be superstars and it ******* sucks considering that Jason Heyward, Justin Upton and Craig Kimbrel are 3 of the 15 or 20 best players in the NL. K26dp
Love this trade. We went from winning 78 games to 74 games this season, but gained money, flexibility, and talent that could let us rebound as soon as next year. Braves fans should be jumping for joy. Instead we dump two great players at the expense of BJ

They did the smart thing by targeting a bunch of B level prospects and good upside starters instead of banging their head against the wall trying to get more blood from a rock like they have been in Philadelphia.I also find it funny that people were gung ho about moving Gattis with BJ just to get rid of him but when they do just that but with Kimbrel they flip out. Quit your bitching and take a nap.
