MayorWest13
http://www.thefalcoholic.com/2015/4/1/8326203/falcons-to-work-out-two-wide-receiversYou can't read too much into prospect visits beyond a sincere level of interest, but the Falcons bringing in Phillip Dorsett and Ty Montgomery for workouts tells a story that I suspect we'll see confirmed on draft day.James Walker ✔ @JamesWalkerNFLFollow#Hurricanes WR Phillip Dorsett said he has workouts scheduled with the #Dolphins, #Falcons and #Panthers.12:58 PM - 1 Apr 2015What's that story, you ask? The Falcons have needed a receiver for multiple years now, and they're finally going to spend a draft pick on one in 2015. This is a team that has Julio Jones as their top receiver, which makes an enormous difference, but they're working with aging options in Roddy White and Devin Hester, plus a reclamation project in Leonard Hankerson. Julio obviously has the size and speed to strike fear into the hearts of defenses, but the Falcons are decidedly without speedy receiving options outside of him, and White and Hester are both on the wrong side of 30.Dorsett fixes that issue, as speed is his major asset. He's had some issues with drops in his college career, but is largely a sure-handed receiver, and he offers legitimate special teams value as a returner. Chances are he'd play most of his snaps in the slot for Atlanta, and take over as the team's returner once Hester moves on. Assuming you're still pretty happy with Jones and White and think Hankerson can contribute, you can't ask for a much better fit for this offense in 2015 and beyond.Their second workout was with Ty Montgomery, and you'll find a pretty good scouting report on him below. Suffice to say he's also an intriguing option with legitimate speed.Rand Getlin ✔ @Rand_GetlinFollowFormer #Stanford WR Ty Montgomery -- who ran 4.46 at his pro day -- will be working out for the #Saints and #Falcons. The question is when the Falcons will be willing to sink a draft pick in early enough to grab someone like Dorsett or Montgomery, as both could go in the second or third rounds. If the team manages to address their pass rushing woes with their first pick, I'd definitely support a move to give the Falcons more speed, ability and youth at wide receiver. DarrellShropshire
Either would be a great talent in this offense. Phillip in the 2nd would be the best though. Not making it to 3rd.
A-TowN.-
Dorsett will be an absolute monster
HEIST
Add Montgomery later in the draft as the replacement to Hester
Clark Kent™
If we want Dorsett you probably have to take him in the 2nd and i would prefer to not go WR in the 2nd. He is going to be a stud though.
Tribal Chief
If a team with a strong armed qb gets him, he will be an instant threat
TheFalcoholic
I will take anyone that's going to be a playmaker & help this team win a super bowl, as long as we get an edge rusher.
KRUNKuno
Tyler Lockett or bust.
Jesus
We grab a pass rusher in the 1st, it doesn't matter who we take in 2nd or 3rd. Can be a running back or receiver or whatever.
KRUNKuno
But since we're on the subject of dorsett, he is exceptional at tracking the ball in the air. I like Lockett because he's a warrior out there. He was the team's number one receiver for like 2 years straight, facing double teams and all. Nobody is going to outwork him, and he single handedly took over games for Kansas State on a regular. FentayeJones
Dorsett was clocked at 4.25 today...kid can fly
vel
I have been praying for Dorsett. The only reason he isn't a first is because of size. If he was over six feet, he's an auto first rounder.
Xfactor
I'm good with that.
