texasfalconfan
I hear a lot of discussions about trading down but whose really willing to give up picks for 8. My challenge is you play gm, use the points chart to establish value and make your case why that team would make the trade and for whom. Let's assume the obvious chooses are gone by 8 Winston, mariota, Williams, fowler, Beasley, and cooper or white. I know I only listed 6 players but im basing it on pretty much for sure to be gone. The idea is to create a watch list of teams that might come up and for whom based on how the first 7 picks play out. Or to see how unlikely it will be that any team will want to trade up for 8 Edited April 1, 2015 by texasfalconfan
silentbob1272
I don't agree that Mariota is an obvious choice to be gone by then, Maybe, but just as likely not. The same for both Cooper and White, one or the other very well may be available. As for the trade, I'd still like to stay in front of the Stains, just because a lot of mocks have them going PR as well, so Cleveland would be my hope. Send #8 and our 7th, for #12 and their 3rd.1411.4 vs 1410 points. At 12, pick up Gregory, Dupree, or even Scherff. In the third according to how the earlier rounds shake out, take a hard look at Ramik Wilson who would make an outstanding SAM, or Ali Marpet-C\G made for a ZBS. BuckheadFan
Most likely available players that GMs might trade up for:The other WR (Cooper/White)Trae Waynes, CBDanny Shelton, DTBrandon Scherff, T
silentbob1272
So who besides mariota would Cleveland be willing to come up to 8 for?Cooper or White, which is why I listed them. WR is a huge need for Cleveland, if one of those guys is available, they could be an option. They still have #19 afterall. I think we probably stay put, but of the possibilities for a tradedown, like I said earlier, Cleveland would be my hope.
texasfalconfan
I could see min moving up from 11 to 8 to get scherff they need a guard this deal could be complicated because point wise it's not a good fit the best way would be we give them 8 (1400 points) they give us picks 12 and 75 (1465 points) this could give us Dupree or Harold and two 3rd round picks to give us 2 starters
FalconFanSince1970
I don't agree that Mariota is an obvious choice to be gone by then...You know me, my first reaction to this was awe hail naw let's argue. But truth be told I just looked at ten mocks and he was still available in four of them. So it's possible. As a side note, in the ten mocks I looked at Todd Gurley went in the first eight picks in two of em. Charles Davis has us taking him. Interesting. DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
IMO very very few players are "obvious choices" to be off or on the board. And who would want to jump up depends on who is on the board.
