Possible Draft Idea

Recommended Posts

I wanted to run this scenerio by you guys/gals and get your thoughts on this. I was trying to come up with a way to get Beasley (1st) / Gregory (2nd) and Gordon (1st) / Gurley (2nd) and the only thing that I could come up with would be to do the following trade:

Atlanta - Trade 8th pick

NY Giants - Trade 9th pick and give us 2nd round pick (42 overall)

Reasoning: If Beasley is there at 8, if we trade back and pick at 9, then we could still get Beasley at 9 as I think the Giants go for something different. And by picking up an earlier 2nd round pick, I could see Gurley falling to that round. I think Melvin Gordon's draft stock is better than Gurley right now and he would be gone in the 1st round. Plus we would have another pick in the 2nd round (44th overall)

Thus giving us an edge rusher and a running back for the future.

Your thoughts.

To pick up an extra pick.... There was no scenario other than that to get any combination of those 4 players. If we have Beasley or Gregory *and* Gordon or Gurley, that would instantly improve both the offense and the defense. And looking at the draft order, I could see the Giants drafting Gurley in the 2nd if they were ahead of us.

Just a thought and wanted to see what others thought about it.

GO FALCONS!!

This is the dumbest thing I've read on the board today. The Giants are going to trade up one spot to take a player we don't want, knowing that we would take Beasley instead of their guy who would still be there at 9? And they're giving away their second round pick to do it? Stop posting draft ideas.

Is there some new MB joke with calling Fowler 'Flower' because it's happening a lot in these threads all of a sudden.

That's why proofreading is such an underrated hobby. Your goal on a messageboard is to communicate your thoughts on a common topic or idea, yet some people type with their noses it seems.

I'm not perfect and I'm a mobile user as well (which has gotten me pretty handy with HTML tags) but I at least attempt to make sure my posts make sense. I don't say anything important enough that the world can't wait an additional 30 seconds to read it so I can make sure I don't look like an idiot in the process.
