JDaveG
A couple of takeaways. I didn't get to hear the entire interview, but what I caught was this.1) He said he has "no idea." That's BS. You could tell he knows, but he's been ordered not to divulge it, so he kind of stuck with the "we haven't received the letter yet, so we don't know" angle. That's fair, but it would be nice if he'd just say that. I hate the song and dance we always get with him.2) Randy Gregory - it sounds like he thinks Gregory has a lot of upside, but he didn't give up a lot on whether he thinks he would be a target at 8 or moving back.3) Chris Rude is hilarious. Rude said "I think it's time the NFL changed its stance on marijuana."Dimitroff: "You do?"Rude: "I do."Dimitroff: "Are you looking for a response from me?"Rude: "No, I was hoping silence would fill the room." g-dawg
awesome.Well, when you couple Dimitroff's response on the talent of Randy Gregory along w/ Ian Rapoport saying to "watch the Falcons at #8" for Randy Gregory to land and that Arthur Blank had a directive that said Falcons could take "edgier players" - seems to bode well (or not depending on your perspective) that Randy Gregory could land in the ATL on draft day. falconidae
TD gets fined and, possibly, suspended if he announces the penalty early. And you can't expect him to announce who they like in the draft. He's limited in what he can say.

"We've been informed of the proposed penalty, but we haven't received the official word, and we are not allowed to speak about it until we do receive the official word. So I'm sorry I cannot answer that right now, but we'll certainly speak to it once the punishment is official."
peterpiper
I do not think Falcons would risk taking Gregory. Now that he failed the 1st test. The next failed test is automatic suspension. So I don't see Falcons risking this. Gregory is top 4 pick and a beast but too much of a risk at this point. I would rather see them get OL out of Iowa. Safe pick. Solid pick at #8. CTann
Right now it "seems like Gregory is the Falcons guy" but I don't think we go with him just because of the failed drug test. I think the FO is more willing to take riskier players than they used to be, see Hageman, but 1 failed drug test already may not bode well. Gregory will more than likely drop out of the top 10. gazoo
JDaveG, its quite possible TD has been told by the commissioner not to say anything at all about the matter. When I'm instructed not to say "anything" about something, saying I know something but I'm not going to discuss it with you IS saying something about the matter. FalconFanSince1970
I'm guessing our penalty for NoiseGate will be an immediate four month suspension of Dimi and the forfeiting of our third round pick in the 2015 draft. If that's the case then we benefit because it gets Dimi out of the war room and saves us further embarrassment for yet another failed third round pick. Falcon Man™
My guess is a big fine. Yes, we broke the rules and that is what Goodell has stated is what they are focusing (not that other teams have also committed the same offense), but I still think it will have an affect on his decision. that, and the fact that we sucked last season even with the added noise... bradzilla1
I think that Gregory would be a safe bet at #8. I don't think we have to worry about him smoking weed in ATL because let's face it, there is just no supply of the stuff in the city. The only problem with him going at #8 is that he will be going to NE since pumping crowd noise into a stadium is by far a bigger advantage than deflating a hand full of footballs for an entire season. So Godell is going to switch the draft position of each team. That's just the rumor that I have heard and it comes from a pretty reliable source (my a$$). Now if you highlight all of this in purple...

Jerry Maguire
People should look closer at Seattle's drafts and see how many people they missed on. Just the numbers of drafted players every year and number of roster slots in the league guarantee a lot of "misses."

Peters, Dougle and DeCouldn't were nothing to write home about. Now search the third round picks of the other years Dimi was in control and you'll see he passed on players like Cliff Avril, Jamaal Charles, Jeremy Zuttah, Jermichael Finley, Eric Decker, Navarro Bowman, Tony Moeaki, Jimmy Graham, T.Y. Hilton, Tre Mason, Charles Sims, Jerick McKinnon, Terrence West and more. He also could have taken some fourth rounders in the late third round like Alerraun Verner and K.J. Wright. How many of them have been good players? 25? 40?Also EL OH ******* EL at including Tony Moeaki, Charles Sims, and Terrence West.Yep. Dimitroff is not a good smokescreener though - he either says what he means (Julio/"explosive") or is just quiet and does what others suspect anyway (Jake Matthews).
