Rapoport Keep An Eye On Gregory And The Falcons

Recommended Posts

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport calls the Falcons a team to "keep an eye on" for Nebraska DE/OLB Randy Gregory.

Per Rapsheet, the Falcons are "open to edgier players" under new assistant GM Scott Pioli. GM Thomas Dimitroff famously tried to build a roster of choir boys, but his personnel role has been revoked. Pioli will be calling the shots on draft weekend. The Falcons know they have to take chances as they try to restock one of the league's most talent-barren rosters. Gregory failed a drug test at February's Combine, but has No. 1 overall type of talent.

Do you think he falls much? i like stockpiling draft picks, trading back and getting a good pass rusher would be nice, i dont follow college football but i do know i prefer draft over free agency

Hard to say in today's NFL, pass rushers are at a premium. If you do try to trade back there is also the risk of losing out on a good pass rusher, that could mean someone takes that player before Atlanta, or a team trades up to pass Atlanta for a certain player.

I read somewhere that Gregory was doing this to deal with anxiety. How anxious can a grown man get? Maybe he just needs a little one on one time with a therapist

Anxiety could be caused by a lot of different things. My brother actually dealt with it and nothing helped him until he cut out wheat from his diet. He said the only thing that helped him before that was weed. Even the anxiety meds really dint do too much to help.

And me and red 40. Anesthesia school and a pop tart for breakfast didn't mix.

Nobody really knows how any of these guys will pan out in the Pros.Gregory could totally leave weed alone and become an all-pro or he could be like Gordon in Cleveland and be suspended every other season. The fact that he failed the combine test makes him a target for the NFL drug police, can he grow up and get his act together???

I'll be surprised if we pick him at 8

I'm not interested in how he gets down. Not any part of him personally. Not his weight, not his build. Nothing. There is something in his game that is all wrong. I hope if he comes here they clean it up, but I'm not thrilled. Honestly I'm already tired of seeing his name.

Agreed. The substance abuse problem is just the icing on the cake.
