Halsey.
1. A team will never regret taking a great player.2. The Falcons could really use an offensive difference maker to take pressure off Ryan/Jones,3. Roddy White will turn 34 this year and should easily transition into '#3 WR' role.(Cooper)4. Being able to run the ball makes the whole team better. The Falcons were a poor running team the last 2 years. (Gurley)5. Both players have 0 character questions.6. Pass rushers are historically risky Draft picks. The last time the Falcons hit on a pass rusher with a premium Draft pick was Patrick Kerney.7. Who would you be more excited to see in a Falcons uniform? Amari Cooper, Todd Gurley or 'enter undersized DE/OLB here'8. Nobody would have a problem if the Falcons go 1. OLB/DE 2. offensive skill player, so how could it be a terrible strategy to reverse that?I could keep going all day, but I'll stop there for now. I eagerly await futile attampts to defeat my argument.p.s I don't really think Cooper will be available, but a lot of people seem to. Francis York Morgan
If they draft Gurley at 8, without any tradedown or anything - an injury prone player with a fairly heavy workload in GA - TD should be fired on the spot. Thankfully it isn't remotely likely.

Drunken Minotaur Zebra
You've been holding out all these years and this is what you open with?If TD drafts Gurley at #8 he should be fired on the spot. At 42? Okay, maybe.

Gurley is injury BUT you know he's not gonna be a bust if healthy. All the pass rushers have tremendous bust potential especially Beasley. dmo_dlo
I would be fine with taking Cooper at 8. As things are shaping up, Cooper/White/Scherff may be our best options. And if Quinn really likes 8 pass rushers, then maybe we can still get a guy he likes in the 2nd or later.
freebird310
If Beasley and Fowler are off the board I for one got zero problems with it..........
MAD597
We deserve to lose 10 games a year for the next decade if draft Gurley, This must be the year we get a real pass rusher with our 1st rd pick.
Halsey.
Who is a more valuable player to the Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch or Bruce Irvin?Just sayin...
Sponge
I'd rather take Cooper if Beasley and Fowler are off the board. Then hope Gurley falls to us in the 2nd. The FO doesn't look like they are serious about fixing the D anyway.
Lornoth
I agree with the premise, but not the players. Cooper's not even the best WR in the draft, and Gurley just doesn't make sense at 8. 2'nd round sure, maybe even a trade up (though I wouldn't necessarily support that either), but not straight at 8. slamee101
1. A team will never regret taking a great player.Started off with an inaccuracy. Julio Jones is a great player and people still got the nerve to b*tch and moan around here as if we gave up so much for him and he's the reason this team has struggled in recent years. Grass is ALWAYS greener syndrome. JJ Watt is arguably the best defensive player in the league and it hasn't lead to much of anything for the Texans.Bottom line is we need a pass rusher more than any other position at that stage in the draft. Going Cooper or Gurley would be silly but it's mock draft season and guys just want to stoke conversation.
Halsey.
Gurley is not getting to the 2nd round, folks. He won't make it out of the top 20. I wouldn't even be shocked if he was taken before pick 8.
Begotten912
people still think the problem with our run game is the guy carrying the ball.lol. just lol.
Pacific_Falcon
Anyone that thinks drafting gurley at 8 is a good idea probably thinks 2+2 = jello and believes purple is a food group.
Halsey.
Running the ball is obviously about more than just 1 player, but having a great RB doesn't hurt. I don't see any teams rushing to sign Steven Jackson or Jacquizz Rodgers. Also, keep in mind Gurley can contribute to the passing game. NumberOneStunna
Anyone that thinks drafting gurley at 8 is a good idea probably thinks 2+2 = jello and believes purple is a food group. So who should we draft then? You want us to just blindly draft a pass rusher? None of the projected 1st round pass rushers are top 10 picks. Quinn came from Seattle, most of their pass rushers were not big names so we can get maybe a trey flowers, preston smith or the guy from UCLA in the middle rounds. Big Reg Da Commish
I'd be ok with taking Gurley, Gordon, White or Cooper at 8 if AND ONLY IF, we secure another pass rusher between now and draft day.And I mean a bonafide starter like trading for Bennett or someone. Halsey.
Kevin White wouldn't bother me, but I prefer Cooper for a number of reasons.
