JOEinPHX
I had a chance to spend time last night with a current Falcons scout, a former Falcons coach now with the Bucs, a Cardinals coach and a Cardinals front office guy. The conversation eventually came around to the various Gates - DeflateGate, CellGate, NoiseGate and most recently, TamperGate. The NFL is expected to launch as many as 20 investigations into tampering during the free agency period and they intend to come down very hard on provable instances of tampering, and they apparently want to set the stage for severe punishments by handing down some severe punishments for provable prior cases of undermining the integrity of the game. Even though DeflateGate is probably the most egregious offense, it is also the least provable and may go unpunished. On the other hand, CellGate and NoiseGate are both proven and confessed offenses, which bodes ill for the Browns and Falcons.Everything I heard last night is only a step or two removed from rumor, but it certainly bolsters the recent report by Adam Schefter.. TheFalcoholic
So what are you predicting? High draft pick? Or are you not in the position to speculate...
Bawse
Probably a fine, if it costs us a pick at this point I would be furious.
birdz4i
the one that needs to be punished most is GODell for destroying the game.
NateDogg1215
Thanks Joe! Man extremely nervous about the high draft pick lost. Hope it's not a 2nd round pick . Who the heck OK'd this to be done ??????? Edited March 26, 2015 by NateDogg1215
vel
I just don't see how ours it worse than "Deflategate". The intent is there, but the results aren't. That's why Bountygate was so harsh. They won a Super Bowl doing it. If they had sucked, I doubt it would have been so severe.

Surely if you cheat to win, then all of the wins you accumulated during that period should be voided! trubirdfan4life
Noisegate falls on the stadium staff and the falcons team will pay the price for it. If they know how long its been goong on....they know who was doing it and under whos direction. We have had more visiting fans than home fans at games over the past 2 seasons that some speaker noise doesnt matter......its like the canned laughter you hear on sitcoms.....doesnt really make a difference
Falconcheff
Then the league offices ought to slap themselves silly with huge fines and suspensions, because their ridiculous rule changes and arbitrary punishments are what's REALLY ruining the integrity of the game... Cheap Talk
There may be other ramifications to Noisegate from a fan perspective. I for one have held off renewing my season tickets (been renewing for six years) until I find out what this penalty is all about. It has been hard enough to follow this roller coaster of a franchise without the NFL cutting into their potential talent pool. This hurts the fans. If they want to punish the people involved, and hit them where it hurts, that is fine with me. But, do not punish the fans and diminish the product that is put on the field. This would all seem to be self-defeating for the NFL!Thanks for the scoop JOEinPHX.
JOEinPHX
So what are you predicting? High draft pick? Or are you not in the position to speculate...Predictions were made but they were pure speculation. No one at the table had a direct connect to the league office on this subject, but for me, the most telling thing was that the buzz was the same in three separate team headquarters.. Unless I missed something along the way. How bad will it be? Will lose a draft pick? Fine? Will a front office exec be suspended? Want more info. mashburn*Fibonacci
So when is goodell going to get in trouble for lying about seeing the tape on Rice? or did that fall on deaf doors
mashburn*Fibonacci
What gets me is Arthur did not know it was wrong. and in fact there is old websites that say, "crowd noise can be pumped in for a few seconds". And it was to basically to get the crowd motivated. And then you got Arthur who came out and admitted he did it.So why is it so severe? I could see if the rule book said it was not allowed. but it actually is for a short time.
RYNE
We better not lose a f-ing draft pick higher than a 5th

History has proven that!!!!I'd love to know why he destroyed those spygate tapes. Can only think that if they were released to the media, then we'd learn that the Pats had spied not just on the Jets, but several teams on their way to SB victories
