RED_N_BLACK_98
Not to mention Gregory has been working with chuck smith in ATL leading up to the combine. He said chuck smith has already taught him so much, that if he knew what he knows now in college, he would've been the number one pick. Would love to see what Quinn could do with Gregs.and Quinn wants to have a developmental type staff, why has he not reached out to Chuck Smith? Anyone else feel this guy would be an asset to our defensive staff? Edited March 21, 2015 by rhamlin
Ga_spider
If he was part of the Falcons staff then we wouldn't be able to listen to him on 92.9.

Ga_spider
Chuck Smith has worked with numerous amount of NFL talent. I'm not sure why he hasn't been giving a job on a team.

I'm not sure why he hasn't been giving a job on a team.BINGO !Because Chuckie aint willing to put in the hours and also work his way up the ladder.Remember when Gonzalez was asked about coaching in the NFL ?In a nutshell, he no longer had the desire to invest the time and energy. FalconFanSince1970
I believe Chuck lost any hope of a coaching position after training Busterson and swearing he was gonna be a beast.

EightyEight
I used to wonder the same thing. He seems very willing, only thing I can gather is maybe he has a big ego and he's not as great as he thinks he is. Or maybe he is great but is hard to work with. AustFalcon
I've always wondered if he was even interested. He probably get good money out of Defensive Line Inc without the pressure of having his guys producing on field.
hjerry
He said sometime back that he was content doing what he's been doing. He likes where he is.
AtlantaFalconPokerPro
and Quinn wants to have a developmental type staff, why has he not reached out to Chuck Smith? Anyone else feel this guy would be an asset to our defensive staff?Chuck smith could've gone into coaching a long time ago. If you make 300k a year, are you gonna downgrade to a job working double the hours for half the money?
gtech1
I'm guessing he's a pain to work with.

pzummo
Chuck probably makes twice as much for half the number of hours doing it as a private practice. You won't find many successful self-employed people looking for an employer.
shockerfalcon
I seem to remember him lobbying for the defensive line coach position last off season before we brought in Cox.
DarrellShropshire
??^The quote is a comment I made in another thread. It came from a draft special that was centered around gregory.

The man has a good gig. No need to screw it up by putting himself under an NFL coaching staff.
autigerfan
I think he worked on Rex Ryan's staff in New York as a pass rush coach. Not sure why he hasn't gotten a full time gig as DL coach somewhere.
