(AP Photo/Don Juan Moore)FLOWERY BRANCH Most folks want to know why the Falcons, who are trying to improve their pass-rush, re-signed defensive end Kroy Biermann on Wednesday. Here are the five reasons why the Falcons re-signed Biermann:1. He did lead the worst defense in the league with 4.5 sacks last season.2. Nobody else wanted him in free agency.3. Perhaps more of his skills will return in his second year back from Achilles surgery.4. He could provide depth and help on special teams.5. He wears those fierce red contacts during the games. sdogg
#2 should have been the # 1 reason why we shouldn't have signed him. Hopefully Quinn has some PEDS that 31 other coaches don't have.
Abe
I think using him as a situational player instead of relying on him as an every down player will benefit both parties. We know he has the motor and desire to play hard. Hopefully his increased reps on special teams and specialized role on defense can help his production. I like the signing and he did get better as his confidence in his Achilles improved. He's perfect for the role that he's going to have now instead of us being dependent on his every down production. We can't replace every person in one off season so I understand the resigning and I'm excited to see how the entire puzzle fits together. Ovie_Lover
Then let's go re-sign Stephen Jackson.... he'd be great depth too.Because STEVEN Jackson is the same as Kroy Bierman, do you not know the difference in their age?
Atlfanstckndenver
If one thing is for sure, it's that Kroy should be pretty motivated this off season.

I've seen Kroy at his absolute best and that was several years ago. His arrow is pointing down. There is nothing special about Kroy. Sure he tries hard and 'has a motor.' Let's just go ahead and ignore the whole 'motor' thing is how most white players are described but my point is that guys like Kroy grow on trees in the NFL.This is why no other team was remotely interested. They know what he can do but they'd rather have younger guys with more potential that can possibly develop into better players. We've seen Kroy at his best, (several years ago), and he's not going to get any better.

ugadawg
1. They didn't want the bad publicity on Atlanta housewives 2. They wanted the message board to have someone to ***** about3. This would give the fans someone to hate so they wouldn't pick any of the new players 4. He can play ST5. He can add depth and be a situational, player which is all he is

Big Reg Da Commish
We shouldn't be mad at Biermann for being what he is.A 5th round draft pick out of Montana who is a serviceable NFL player. We all should be mad at the Falcons for being in a position to where we had to rely on Biermann as if he was 1st or 2nd round pick. I honestly think he and Schofield could be pretty effective in limited snaps behind Clayborn and whoever we pick at #8.We just rreealllyy need Clayborn to stay healthy this season. The guy is a football player from top to bottom. He's just a terrible one. Edited March 20, 2015 by falcon_USMC0341
