Rhonda Rousey - Greatest Ufc Fighter That Has Ever Lived.

Recommended Posts

When Cyborg shows that she can fight at 135, where the UFC has it women's bantamweight division, and the fight still doesn't happen then I will be the first to say that Rousey is ducking her. Until then, that is an unfair assertion. Why would Ronda want to move up to a non-existent weight class to fight someone much larger and is a known steroid user?

I'm just saying what it looks like. I dont think Ronda is ducking her anymore. I think she is just cautious. Make her fight at 135 is smart as **** for Ronda

also smart for Floyd. Although he should fight Gennady Golovkin at a catch weight. He knows what would happen if he fought him though

I would pay $100 PPV for that fight. I knew better than to pay for UFC last night. After the suicide comment, I knew that ***** was done.

Because there is a big pile of $$$ waiting for both fighters if they make the fight happen. If there is a ton of $$$ sitting on the table and you still don't want to take a fight at 145 or 140 when you walk around at 160 then you are probably skeered.

So I'm hearing that Ronda's next fight is likely Meisha Tate...again...for the 3rd time... Are you guys really going to pay money to see that again?

Stop buying PPV's for Ronda's fights until she takes on Cyborg and the fight will happen.

If you never want to see Rousey vs Cyborg, then by all means, keep wasting your money watching Ronda beat up cans. Her and Dana are more than happy to take your money and do that.

Here's how I see the tale of the tape between those 2:

Striking: Cyborg (world class striker)

Clinch: Rousey (world class judo skills)

Ground: Cyborg (world class BJJ skills)

Power: Cyborg

Killer Instinct: Wash... They both go for the quick kill and try to finish fights early.

Winner: Probably Cyborg unless she gets caught in an arm bar. If Cyborg gets a clean punch on Rousey, Rousey will be rocked. She's never been hit like Cyborg hits.

Yep it would make a lot of money but to beat the champ you have to go to the champ not the other way around.

Apparently SB doesn't realize that Judo has ground game submissions (which is hilarious given his criticism of Rousey as an arm bar one-note). Apparently SB also doesn't realize that Rousey is trained in BJJ by 10th Planet and Eddie Bravo.

And I'm still waiting to see Cyborg's "world class BJJ skills" in an actual fight.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Ronda already has a big pile of money. She's the face of the sport and is making movies as well. If Cyborg wants that, then she's the one who has to chase the fight. Not vice versa.

Plus Ronda showed that she can punch plenty hard as well. How many one punch, faceplant knockouts do you see in women's MMA?

A lot if you watch Cyborg fight.

Ronda would have no chance against Cyborg striking. They are in a different league in that regard.

We will see how much of that translates at 135. You make it sound like Cyborg has been eating steel beams and crapping nails while Rousey has been fed tomato cans. There are plenty of cans on Cyborg's resume too.

Just the fact that you are so confident in Cyborg makes me believe even more that Rousey would win. Given your history of being wrong about pretty much everything.

I readily admit that Rousey is the 135 champ and has cleaned out the 135 pound division. I also say Cyborg is the 145 champ and has cleaned out the 145 division. The only legit opponent for either one at this point is each other and that's what the public wants to see. Since they are both champs and are separated by a 10 pound weight limit, common sense says they give the public what they want and have a catch weight fight at 140. But nope, Ronda's too skeered.

Again, if the fight happens it will be in the UFC where there is no such thing as a 140 lb women's division. So the fight wouldn't even be for a championship. How does that help UFC?

And you can use your faulty logic to accuse any fighter of being scared. Demetrius Johnson has cleaned out the flyweight division. But he must be scared to move up to a catchweight to fight Connor MacGregor, right?

Don't know how you can ask that question. UFC can make major bank if they do a Rousey / Cyborg fight. Dana White himself said it would probably the biggest PPV event in UFC history.

The problem that Dana sees is what if Cyborg wins? Then she's the face of women's MMA and that's not the face he wants there. THAT's the biggest reason this fight hasn't happened IMO. Dana wants a pretty face as champ to promote the sport.

If Cyborg won a 140 lb fight, she wouldn't even have a championship. Who else would she ever fight? It makes absolutely no sense for the UFC to do this at a non-existent catchweight.

So she would be stripped of the Invicta 145 pound championship if she won? wacko.png

It would be a super fight. Champion vs Champion. Not the first time that's happened.

So UFC would let her come in, beat their champion and then not even get to promote her in the future as the woman who beat Ronda Rousey on their own cards?

Yeah, that sounds like an awesome deal for the UFC. They should jump all over that.

Once again you are proving how wrong you are (again).

UFC owns Invicta. That means they are in contract with Cyborg so if she won they could promote her however they like.

Promote her to fight on invicta cards? After beating Rousey she will just go back to doing Invicta cards where no one sees her?

You're a marketing genius, Steve.

What have I been wrong about? Only thing I can think of is the last presidential election. I had already admitted I misjudged the stupidity of the voters. Other than that, I'm pretty much always right. cool.png

There is no 145lb UFC women's division, so Cyborg is not "the 145 champ". Tonya Evinger is the 135lb champ of the league Cyborg fights in, Invicta Fighting. Is Tonya "the 135 champ"? She lost to Sara McMann (Rousey KO'd McMann in the 1st round, 66 second fight). Tonya also lost to Alexis Davis (Rousey KO'd Davis in 16 seconds, 2nd fastest KO in UFC history). But Tonya's carrying a 5 fight win streak in Invicta Fighting, so that's nice, but her championship at 135lb is not equivalent to Rousey's championship in UFC at 135lb.

So how can Cyborg's championship in that league be considered as the 145lb champ when that league is essentially what the minor leagues are to the majors? We've seen it time and again where StrikeForce champions got demolished by UFC champions, and UFC has-beens went on to dominate in StrikeForce. UFC is the best of the best, and Cyborg does not fight in the UFC, so Cyborg is not recognized as a champion.

And last but not least, Cyborg is a striker. You cannot put her BJJ on the same planet as Ronda's. That's just silly and ignoring the facts around her career. Does she have a BJJ background and experience? Yes. Can she fight in a clinch and/or grapple? Yes. But she is not a great BJJ specialist and her career has shown that she is best as a striker. She has exactly 0 submission wins, all wins by decision or KO/TKO. She has lost by submission though. Rousey has submitted many opponents and you cannot compare the BJJ skills between the two. Cyborg is a striker, and even though she has experience in BJJ, she has lost more fights via submission than she has won (0-1).

Ronda definitely doesn't need the fight for money. She might want it for her legacy. Only Ronda knows for sure

She certainly doesn't need to move up in weight. As I said before, if Cyborg shows she can fight at 135 and the fight doesn't happen, then I will be the first to say that Ronda ducked her. Until then, it's pointless debate.

she shouldn't move up. We will see if Cyborg can get to 135. But Ronda knows Cyborg is a different beast. She presents a challenge
