A day later and I'm still thinking about how powerful he was in this film and what a great story was portrayed. Al Pacino was super also.

Better review from you than the professional critics. Might have to hold off as my wife isn't a fan of this genre.

I did go see Bombshell with her so that should get me great hubby points.

Talk her into it. The 'hit' scenes on mob members were done tastefully and humorous as the audience chuckled at how well it was portrayed on the screen. Off and on during the film great songs from the 50's & 60's were inner twined that sure brought back fond memories from that era.

Al Pacino lost me years ago but I actually like him in The Irishman. Too many of his roles seem like someone doing an Al Pacino parody. It took a bit for me to see him as Jimmy Hoffa instead of as Al Pacino, but I got there. Pesci was understated for once. Honestly, I liked all of them. The little girl was one of the most compelling characters IMO and I wish we'd seen more of her relationship with her father but I know it wouldn't serve the overall story, which was already very long.

They could have trimmed the her relationship a bit IMHO.

Just saw 'Downhill'. Don't expect a comedy. Will Farrell plays a serious roll on a family trip. It's a good movie.

'Knives Out' will be the talked about movie of the year. A 'Clue' game style murder mystery with half a dozen superb actor and climatic finish. Some comedy blended in for laughs but serious investigating by Daniel Craig.

Kinda thought the ending was a bit forecasted but overall really liked the movie
