It's now official, no more excuses, no team wanted to hire him as HC.

Unless he chose to be a DC over a HC, which isn't heard of.

Mike Smith was, is, and always will be a great guy that doesn't have what it takes to be an NFL HC.

If you disagree, you have an opinion the other 31 NFL teams do not.

I bet he called timeout while on the phone with Del Rio and had to be reminded the season is over.

Then he thought about it and tipped his hat to Del Rio for correcting him.

Smitty was a good guy, just not cut out to be a HC

I think the pressure just got to him. Their was a huge difference between his demeanor in 2008 and 2014. Anyway, good luck to him in Oakland. Hopefully he rebuilds his reputation as a good defensive coach.

Smith single handedly cost us 2 games this year due to bad time outs. That is more proof of a problem then a bunch of TMZ style reporters repeating second hand rumors.

In both of those games the defense had a shot to stop the opposing offense...A defense given by TD not Smith.

They said the same of Del Rio. Now he has a HC job agin.
