How Will Next Season's Schedule Be Drawn Up For Us?

Most of our opponents are set in stone in that we have to play two non-conference divisions (NFC East and AFC South are the divisions we have to play). But we also have a game against the team that finishes the same place we finish in our division in the NFC West and NFC North (for example, if we win the division then we play the winner of the NFC North and NFC West). So if we win on Sunday, we'll probably play the Seahawks and Packers in 2015 (assuming they win this week) because they won their divisions. If we lose, we probably have to play the Lions and Cardinals next year.

At least that's my understanding of it.

Exactly right, and exactly why winning this game hurts us going forward. Worse draft pick and harder schedule next season when the team may be equipped to actually win in the playoffs by then, instead of just getting there this year so Blank can sell tickets for one last payday this season to see the team crap the bed.

Ugh. Were we a hard game for teams in 2013 based on how we finished 2012? Next year has no guarantees for any team. Some teams sucked this year and will suck next year. Some teams sucked this year but will ball next year, and vice versa. The only guarantee for us is that we have a chance this year if we take care of business Sunday. If you have to worry about this stuff you are talking, you're not That Team.

Actually, if we lose, we'll likely finish 3rd in the division because the Saints have the Bucs next.

The key is having a GM that's not a moron.

-Saints and Buccaneers play the same exact schedule but home and away are reversed.

BIG TIME DISCLAIMER: BEYOND 2013 THIS IS A PROJECTED SCHEDULE BASED ON PRIOR YEARS!!! The NFL has announced the schedule rotation only through 2013. The schedule below assumes they will follow the same rotation pattern through 2019; they may not follow the same pattern!

Note: The website did have it correct for this year, so I assume this will be correct for next year too.
