truefalcon
I was, for one. This time, I wanted Smith to gamble. Felt it in my bones we would lose if we didn't.
SaintsFanInLA
It was almost a must. It didn't happen. I thought it was a mistake not going for it at that point.
Herr Doktor
What the **** did we have to lose? Seemed like a no brainer to me. Yet another nail in the gutless coffin.

FalconFanSince1970
I don't ever want to go for a 4th and 2 from our own 20 something yard line again. Unless there' like a minute or two left with no time outs. That sht is dumb. It hardly ever works. Even when BillyCheck tried it.
The Real Tony G.
I wanted us to go for it on the last 4th and 2 as well as the one at the goal line. Made no sense not to.
The Martyr
There was still a decent amount of time left on the clock. I didnt disagree with the decision based on field position, time remaining, and timeouts remaining, however based on the way our defense had been playing all day, I wouldn't have been upset at all if we decided to go for it. People are gonna complain either way when we lose though.
Peyton
If you were mad at Mike Smith for either on side kick last week, you aren't allowed to say yes to this question.

Lucky_Tom
The punt was the right call, and we got the stop if the refs didn't blow another call on the Trufant "holding". I was way more upset with that pathetic attempt at a series. Playcalls or execution, it was garbage.

dmo_dlo
Which 4th and 2 are you talking about? I wanted us to go for the 4th and 2 and 4th and 3 inside PIT 10, instead of kicking FGs, simply because Matt was hitting 4-8 yards perfectly, and he was perfect in his last 12 attempts. The 4th and 2 to end the game could go either way.
FalconinPA
Yes I was hoping that we would, but knew Mike Smith didn't have the balls to do so. Although I dislike Tomlin, he showed that he had a pair when he went for it on 4th down and made a gutsy play call. Hellz would freeze over before Smith would make that call. Theyhateme : )
I was, for one. This time, I wanted Smith to gamble. Felt it in my bones we would lose if we didn't.That's the problem...Smith don't trust the offense to execute. 2nd and short, 3rd and short or 4th and short...wrong play-calling, line not blocking, you name. They find a way to get it wrong and put the defense right back on the field. It's happened for years now.

Knowing this team toward the end of the game, I truly felt the need to gamble on getting the first down at that point.I really felt they (Steelers) would drive the ball down our throats on final possession. Man I hate loving our team
roguebeaver
Count me in as a yes! Just what does Mike Smith feel has caused his lack of faith in the offense, when it has shown time and again that his timid approach for whatever reason the last two years has not produced enough points to win!? Was it Turner three years ago not getting those 4 and 1's that has jaded him? What a pu. Zz

Da Bird is Da Word
I thought there was no question that we go for it then we didn't and that's when I stopped watching.
roddyyoudaman
Hindsight is 20/20.I honestly didn't want to at the time because I could only imagine what the headlines would read the next day had we gone for it and not converted. Giving your defense (who played pretty well until the 4th) a shot in that situation is still the right call I think.
Bawse
I did. I knew our D wouldn't hold. But as a coach you gotta punt and not show that much distrust in your defense.
