Bring It
In watching and listening to Smitty each week after games.....wins or losses......if he could tell it like it is I think he thinks his roster is a sorry bunch. He has a hard time holding back, biting his tongue. If he ever spoke exactly as he feels he'd probably say something like....."I'd like to see ANY coach try to win with these mediocre players. They try hard but they're just NOT NFL calibre material. Period." I truly believe he feels that.......IN SPADES.
Guest facelessman07
Just like I know for a fact the players lack confidence in SmithYes, we're lacking some talent but this team is better than 4-
FalconFanSince1969
Who's job is it to make them better? HIS. If they are terrible ITS BECAUSE OF HIM
Falcons_Frenzy
Time out. TIME OUT!!!! He's the weakest link on our team. A head coach should never be the weak link.
IronBallsMcGinty
Smith lacks confidence in himself. He has the worst poker face of all time; you can read the fear and trepidation in his eyes on TV.

DonDaLuvMaker
It is Smitty's job to put a team on the field that he has the most confidence in.It's not like he is still the early stages of his HC tenure for the Falcons, where he has to field players that are not his own. He has been here for 7 years and if he has put together a team that he has no confidence in, then he has no business being a head coach. Falcons Rage
Your such a gobbler all the time I swear. It's so annoying.
DonDaLuvMaker
TD and the scouting department puts together the team not Smitty.Head coaches and GMs are suppose to be glued to the hip when it comes building player personnel for the roster. Unless they have different views that causes a rift between the two(Jim Harbuagh and Trent Baalke for example). I doubt that Smitty and TD have that type of relationship. IronBallsMcGinty
Ask Antone or Massaquoi about Mike Smith's feelings on this roster. I'm glad that his clock mismanagement has been so blatant that even the national sports media is paying attention, but it's far from his only fault. He's a burnout. I like Mike Smith as a human being and he seems like a cool guy and I'd love to sit down and have a beer with him, but he's a ******* bum at this point. Blank thinks he's doing him a favor by letting him finish out the season, but it's only making it worse.
shc
I honestly feel like he called the time out thinking we wouldn't make the first down or the field goal, and he wanted as much time as possible.
paulitik
Apparently Smith had confidence in the defense considering he gave the Browns almost a minute of free time to win the game.
PokerSteve
Time out. TIME OUT!!!! He's the weakest link on our team. Drunken Minotaur Zebra
Just like I know for a fact the players lack confidence in SmithYes, we're lacking some talent but this team is better than 4-7Short of a few obvious teams (GB, SF, Denver) this team is right in the mix, talent-speaking. We just have ******* moron coaches who cant figure out what a timeout is or that they shouldnt be running a nickel defense without a single good edge rusher
Tribal Chief
I think the roster feels the exact same way
Drunken Minotaur Zebra
If your HC is the weak link on your team, you're nothing but effing dead meat when the big money games are played.Which is exactly the reason for our epic collapses in big games. Coaching. Coaching. Coaching. The ******* CBS announcers even said it in the 2nd half of the Browns game. Its clear this team is NOT well led at all. Herr Doktor
We should be 6-5 or 7-4. The same thing happened last year. Better preparation and we had a 8-8 or 9-7 year. Mediocre for sure, winning definitely.
Durrty
What if Smith is purposely screwing things up just so he can get fired and rid himself of this monstrosity of a roster?

likeriver
Actually Smitty did speak out a couple months ago. Brian Billick, Smith's brother in law, said that the Falcons had the worst talent in the league. Allegedly Smith told Billick that.
