DownvoteDon
Great: You have the Browns lined up for a 60 yard field goal in the closing moments of a half with the most Dangerous return man in the history of the NFL snuck waiting under the goalposts for a Alabama v Auburn-esque return. What on earth would compel you to call a last moment timeout? Now they do just what you do, go through the motions and kick the ball and just in case anyone missed it, there is Devon Hester catching it for the return. NOW, the Browns can alert even their slow fat guys to make sure they stay with the play and do whatever they can to Prevent a return for a TD. Which is exactly why number 75 was hustling all the way and saved the touchdown for the Browns. Maybe the Browns are well coached enough to have been aware of all that anyway, but thanks to the timeout, they did not have to be.Of course, we never would've been in the situation to screw up the game with the SECOND Half timeout if Brian Hoyer had not screwed it up first. What kind of game management was he involved in with the interception into the end zone?Maybe Hoyer is Mike Smith's long-lost son?
Dharma Initiative
Yep went a little unnoticed because of the second miss but another stupid move
Sheldon Cooper
Judging from Smiths reaction it looked like he was pissed that TO was called too. I am not sure he was the culprit in 2nd quarter.
birdman71
Ohh I noticed that **** too. He gave the kicker another shot a field goal. What a dumbazz.

twright21
As I was watching the sideline, I believe Smith called it. I think he was questioning if we had 12 on the field because of Hester coming on late. It was a dumb timeout, topped only in stupidity by Cleveland trying the fg again after seeing that the kicker was nowhere near making it. Dharma Initiative
I think Smith was yelling "Don't call a TIMEOUT!" to himself and the ref heard and blew the whistle for a timeout
4LoveoftheGame
He just gave their kicker a practice shot on a 60 yard FG. At least he still missed the second one too

WCFalcon
If you're going to call a timeout during that time, at least call it well before he's about to kick it.

Moist Words
On a serious note these were some of the biggest time management blunders I've ever seen a coach make.I honestly can't come up with any worse that I've seen and then you add in the fact that it almost mirrors the Detroit game... dmo_dlo
He called that TO, but it's rubbing off on players. Julio called the time out just before the TD at the end of the half when we had 1st and goal. That's what left time on the clock for Browns to try. I have no idea why Julio would call a TO so quickly with lots of time left while we have a 1st inside the 10.

Sidious
The first half blunder was a warmup for the second half gaffe. He wanted to make sure he could really make a huge mess of the game.

That TO was a good call, we had time, so let's regroup and score instead of try and play with the time and mess up Edited November 24, 2014 by Falkonator

You want to call a TO there, line up, run some clock and then call TO. We had 1 minute left and all TOs, were inside the 10 and had a first down. No reason to rush it in that situation.
