hiawasseefalcon
I have been watching for years and trying to find out how defenses always seem to be one step ahead of our offense. Was it Mularky's plays and formations giving it away? Is it Koetter's plays and formations? Is it our formations in general? Ryan's verbiage? Offensive lineman's stance? Running back stance? Wide receiver stance? What is it?Why don't ALL defenses play ALL teams the same way they play us???Why don't ALL offenses have a small, two foot window to throw into a blanketed coverage???Seriously, forget the offensive line woes, and everything else….WE HAVE TALENTED SKILL PLAYERS….We should be running free at least SOME of the time.I think the important question as to why we are not blowing teams out is focusing on these little things. Is there a tell to what we are doing? Do we not self scout?Besides getting our *** whipped up front, there has to be some other reason. There has even been articles written about how the Panthers knew what was coming. Please do tell.

hiawasseefalcon
Are you aware of the object "game film"?Very aware. There has to be another reason. We NEVER have people running as free as other teams in the NFL do….EVER.
freebird310
Don't know about all that, but I think they have figured our audibles and snap LMFAO ....
Guest Dirty Bird Nation ®
Are you aware of the object "game film"?The Falcons coaching staff isn't. Carolina's defense had been exposed by the deep ball all year long, especially by the Eagles in the game before ours. How many shots deep did we take? Beast-N-Da-Sheetz
To be honest, I think our coaches have a simple and robotic approach to the game that can be seen very easily on film.
FentayeJones
I think Luke Kechley had a copy of our playbook. He was blowing up that undrneeth dump off every time. He knew it was coming.

likeriver
They're just predictable. I'm pretty sure most of us watching can see what they're going to run ahead of time too.

Romfal
Are you aware of the object "game film"?this, we also don't change things around very much at all. When is the last time we ran a fleaflicker, or some other trickery like a WR/RB throw?I don't watch the all 22 every week and even I can see when we line up a certain way, a run with S-jax is coming, clear as ******* day. When we line up 3 WR's on one side, theres about 50% chance we try a screen to Julio, who usually sits behind the other 2 guys or the farthest away and comes back in. Guest Negatorris
Bucs knew our snap count.Panthers knew our formations and tendencies.KOETTER has to go.
dirtybirds808
I think its a problem with the radio frequency in the stadiums. The offensive plays are being transmitted into the linebackers helmet.
yae! dan Quinn
teams have been way ahead of our Offense for years, and by the looks of things have figured out our Defense as well. The only thing that has ever worked is the No huddle or some variation of it. My 4 year old can call the plays before the falcons run them, about 50% of the time. This coaching staff is lazy and predictable. I often see guys on other teams wide open. have rarely seen it here in the GA dome the last , er well, ever. Too simple and robotic like. Reminds me of high school play calling. When will someone wake up and start to change up. SMH

Karst41
Seriously, forget the offensive line woes, and everything else….WE HAVE TALENTED SKILL PLAYERS….We should be running free at least SOME of the time. For you to sumarily dismiss the O Line, you dismiss your topic entirly. It is the O Line period,There is a thing called Execution and Our O Line does not.A good O Line take 3 years from draft to reach is potential. You saw my Rant when the idiots tried to rebuild the Center RG RT of the Line. This was the absolute WORST thing you can do.Todd was retiring, Dahl was gone and now you let Tyson walk?Yeah Tyson was regressing but obviously still a lot better than what we have.Matt Ryan has a tell, heII they all do, but regardless the line has to protectand they have to get a push. (FUNDAMENTALS)When was the last time you saw this line get a push?TD has loaded us with Garbage just so he can bring in Big Names, so he can complywith Arthur Blanks standing orders to Fill the seats.Arthur is no different than Rankin Smith in that regard. doveboss26
It's just the scheme we run. You can tell we have a schedule we like to stay on.Nothing changes throughout the game but in the late stages of a game if we are failing to pick up crucial yards it's called "Smitty Ball" when in reality we've been doing it all game long and it just looks worse in the later stages of a game.As for the screens, yea Carolina blew them up but that shouldn't change anything. We had a schedule to stay on and the screens were keeping them honest while they also played everything deep. We saw a good bit of passes completed just outside or on the hash. The use were successful because even though they were playing the screens well, that threat was always there. We also saw Luke sitting on everything in the middle, again he made sone very good plays, give him credit but it also kept the hashes open. DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
We don't give them away.....we use them. A lot. This is exactly what happened to Mularkey too. Teams saw the same looks over and over and figured out that if you could stop Turner and take away the 5 yard out, the offense couldnt do anything. Koetter is doing a lot of the same stuff. My best guess is that it comes from Coach Smith....either directly or indirectly. If it's direct, I think he's saying "this has worked before, let's keep doing it." If it's indirect, it's because he has hired people that share that mentality. You need to switch your approach up in this league. Teams do too much tape study to think that you're going to be able to do exactly what you want when you want to do it. I know it's a high bar but I look at what Belichick and McDaniels have done and just shake my head at the Falcons. Ryan in that type of offensive system would be a ******* nightmare for people. But we haven't done a consistent enough job of varying our attack.

Bundini Brown
I admit our play calling and formations make things a bit predictable. but please, let's not forget that we see this team twice per year every year.
