Julio Trade

truth..

Recommended Posts

The Browns success this year has almost nothing to do with the Julio trade. I think there's 1 player remaining on the team from the players they snagged in that trade. And he's missed games and is playing on a team that has been near the bottom of the league in stopping the run.

You know what did change though? Coaching.

And they didn't beat the same Bengals we did. They beat the Bengals in Week 10. We lost to the Bengals in Week 2. They were playing at a much higher level then. They have since stopped playing at a high level. The NFL is a dynamic game.

Anyone want to re-grade the Julio trade now? The Browns are sitting at 6-3 coming off a primetime win over the Bengals. We are in the gutter, and we lost badly to those same Bengals. Wow

Wow is right.... you really need to use this wonderful thing called and Google and see how many players the Browns are left from that trade...

Oh wait just look 1-4 posts up from this one...

You should change your screen name because it's incorrect...

When you try to hard to be angry at somebody or something that's beyond your control, you tend to reach. Thread fail.

That trade was dumb because no wr is ever worth that much. Look at this draft, already three studs in benjamin, odell beckham jr, and watkins. Not to mention cooks, evans, and martavis bryant arent doing too bad either. Also the bengals are better now with A.j being back.

People are right that the browns squandered those picks, but that's why they were also a terrible franchise. The good franchises either acquire more draft capital or stay put and find gems withput reaching for a position that is a dime a dozen.

Then why did you insert the Browns in here? Their success has nothing to do with that trade. Stop reaching and be up front with it, just make a topic about how the Julio trade hurt us. Won't be different from the other thousands, but more power to you.

And in 2011 they sucked and we didnt.

And in 2012 they sucked and we didnt.

And in 2013 we both sucked.

And now they've got a little something going and we suck.

Its the way of the league man.

I'm not sold it hurts us that much...I think there are many other failings that hurt us a lot more. But the reality is, it was an over the top move that got us on the doorstep of a SB but didnt cash it in. Oh well. It was a calculated risk that could have paid off had any number of different things happened.

I just can't find it in myself to be too upset about it. Teams arent built or destroyed with one personnel move....even an aggressive one. The league isn't that directional. It's not a pure input/output league. Crazy **** happens.

"Look at how good the browns are! Oh, none of the players they got from that trade are still on their team contributing? I meant think of how good we could have been..."

I don't care about the Browns. What they did with the picks is irrelevant.

What matters, is that the trade resulted in neglecting both trenches, as it left us with not enough picks to properly address our biggest needs and find quality replacements for Abe and Turner.

It's one of the 3 worst trades of the last 30 years IMO: Right up there with Minnesota's decision to trade for Herschell Walker and Ditka's decision to trade a whole draft for Ricky Williams.

Lol slow down there Mate. Up there with the Hershel and Ricky Williams trade? Those are no where near close to what we gave up for Julio. We didn't neglect the trenches we have spent a lot of picks on them over the years they just sucked for some reason. Sam Baker Peria Jerry Peter Konz Mike Johnson Lamar Holmes Garrett Reynolds Cliff Matthews Maponga Goodmen Mass Cliff Matthews just off the top of the head

What happened?? - just quietly the Browns had one of the best off seasons by a franchise re FA. They selected Ben Tate (starting rb), Karlos dansby (starting lb), miles Austin (wr), ex niner safety (starting SS) this season as well as retaining all their 'A' grade drafted OT, OC, cb, wr, etc. Just had a really good performance by their front office.

Of the falcons FA pickups arguably only Asamough is playing well with the others playing average or below. Plus we released our best pass rusher and cornerback in recent years. This has nothing to do with the Julio trade and its frankly a pretty crappola reference.
