NOVAFalconFan
I live in Northern Virginia, I believe most of his problems here came from the Shanny/Griffin/Snyder dynamic, which resulted in him coaching to get fired at the end of 2013. A great mind for the running game; Antone and Freeman could probably both be 1000 yard backs in his offense. Any takers?

E. T.
No way... I cant stand to see that stiff glass eye thats cocked to the side. Plus he could never get it together after Denver. He will quit on you in a minute like he did in D.C.
NOVAFalconFan
Would I be mad if we got him... NoI am just throwing out names that I haven't seen mentioned. Seems like the majority of the board want to elevate a coordinator, which certainly could work. While Shanahan was, in the end, pretty shady up here, I believe he found the relationship with Snyder to be fairly toxic. He did make Alfred Morris a household name. Dharma Initiative
Good coaches ten years ago on necessarily make good coaches in today's NFL. Shanahan is all about running and that's not the key anymore

Nothing will never break the bond between Blank and Ryan. Ryan will own several Home Depots after retirement...

Shanahan is all about running and that's not the key anymoreThe first sentence I agree with, although I would add that great coordinators don't necessarily make good coaches either. Either way can work, or both can fail. The second sentence I disagree with. Running the ball will always be a key. Just because some teams can succeed to some degree without it doesn't mean it isn't a key.

FalconFanSince1970
First Coughlin now Shanahan? Who are you going to make a thread for next? Jimmy Johnson? Barry Alvarez?I don't want any of the retreads, but of all the ones mentioned, I'd take Jimmy Johnson. I always thought he was one of the best at in game adjustments and was hail on wheels at half time adjustments. He was also pretty crafty in a war room. Maybe he could engineer another Herschel trade using Julio this time.

NOVAFalconFan
No. Guy is clueless nowadays. Single handedly ruined RG3.I don't think he would have drafted RG3 in the first place, given a choice. I place the blame for what has happened to Robert on Snyder and on Robert himself, based on the way he used the media to ensure he was the week 1 starter in 2013. jazzyburrell
Shannahan is a case study in why you don't want to bring a Cowher or Dungy or Gruden out of the studio. When the game passes you by the results are only apparent on the field.

However, while the game may, in fact, have passed Shanahan by, the on-field performance of the Redskins during his tenure as HC was indicative of lots of organizational problems, not necessarily his ability to coach or draft.
