Falconsfan567
This article was written in 2011 but it's the first time I have ever read it and it's very interesting how everything went. The reason I'm posting it is because of the previous discussion about FSU and their scheduling and playing in the weak ACC. Apparently (at least according to the quotes in this article) FSU didn't want to join the SEC because they were scared of potentially ending up in the same division as Florida, Alabama and Auburn. They were also scared of being in the same conference as Florida because of the thought of being treated as the redheaded step-child to Florida similarly to the way Auburn was treated by Alabama for years.Ultimately FSU never received an invitation to join the SEC (which I don't quite understand) but had they been invited they more than lightly would have turned it down.http://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/2011/1990-sec-expansion-southeastern-conference/
