Nfl.com's Conor Orr Thinks Rob Ryan Is Best Fit For Atl

Why now?: There are people in the NFL smart enough to realize that Ryan would be absolutely brilliant for a fan base without an identity. Just look at what he's been able to do for New Orleans in a short time. People only think of the final years of the Rex Ryan era in New York but neglect to remember what a star he was between 2009 and early 2011. There was a five-stop book tour with lines out the door at every location. There were free agents from every corner of the NFL -- Plaxico Burress, Bart Scott, LaDainian Tomlinson -- who wanted to play only for him, and there were numerous star players who voluntarily took pay cuts to build his roster. Rob is the same kind of coach and motivator.

Ideal destinations: Atlanta, St. Louis and Oakland. Preferably, Rob Ryan would go to a place with a franchise quarterback who has already been established. We think he could revitalize any of these three sleepy franchises in a heartbeat.

yeah I mean he only had a losing record with the jets..... everyone should be jumping for joy to sign him!

Yea not like he had one more conference game berth w/ a qb the equivalent of tj yates in preseason form. If rex isn't any good, then matt ryan is probably much worse according to whatever geiser of b/s your spewing.

He had a good 2 years and have been mediocre to bad every other year.............. vs the flip side We have good good every year except 2.

Not to mention his team has a worse record than we do right now........... think about that for a second.... you want to hire a guy who has LESS wins and MORE losses than the guy we have in place................. that is unbridled stupidity

And even then Rex is not a HC............... he is a FANTASTIC defensive mind but he is not a head coach.

I would kill to have Rex as a DC here but I want him as far from us as he can be as a HC.

I agree. Rex is the best defensive coordinator in the NFL. He needs a little more grooming before he is HC though

not really. He isn't in the same stratosphere as his brother as a coach

I mean, they are twins, you can't say they both received the same opportunities. I would love Rex as a coach for his experience and defensive coaching. Wouldn't mind Rob, we really could do worse.
