falconidae
Yeah most of me has accepted what 2-6 means for this year, and that change is coming with the offseason. But there's still the insanely optimistic fan part of me that gets labeled homertroll. What if the first half of last week is the real Falcons and Smith had a come to Arthur moment on the flight home & gives his coordinators free rein? What if they get healthy on the offense- Matthews, Blalock, Jones, White, Douglas and start scoring 30 + a game, the D has looked a little better last couple of weeks, would look even better with the offense holding onto the ball more. What if Smith was the one insisting on playing Biermann and Nolan's D looks much saner w/o interfence from Smith? The Falcons could win 9 games and take the division, then Hageman, Shembo and Southward become the playmakers the D needs, Falcons make a deep playoff run and keep Peyton from winning his 2nd super bowl...Yeah yeah, I know, but what if it did happen that way? falconsd56
fortunately we may not need to win 9 games to win the division........as crappy as everyone has played all year 7 wins may do it.If we get into the playoffs some how by hook or crook then the slate is wiped totally clean IMO. rollo lawson
What about our pathetic inside linebackers and terrible pass rush. The only solution at this point is to bench Kroy Biermann, play 3-4 which fits our personnel, and play more press man. That's our only hope at this point on defense. On offense, more Freeman and Antone and let Matt run the hurry up exclusively.
DoYouSeeWhatHappensLarry
I'll hope for it but I don't see it.But I didnt expect to beat the Lions up like we did in the first half. Nor did I expect the team to be so actively terrible in the second half.So I guess I don't even really know what to expect from this ******* team....other than a not great result
Guest facelessman07
Analogous to a mirage in the desertWhen you think you're coming on to something, POOF, it disappearsWe will continue our losing ways because Smith wants to "stay the course." This ship is about to hit the iceberg yet he thinks we can run right through it, without even a thought of changing course. PokerSteve
I've just chugged some kool-aide and I'm trying my best to channel my inner ho-zomb, but I'm not feeling any kind of resurgence from the Falcons. Part of that may be pure cynicism, a bigger part might be my strong desire nothing interfere with the house-cleaning that will take place if things continue steeply downward. That house-cleaning would significanctly increase the chances of the Falcons getting to the Super Bowl within the next 10 years. In the large scheme of things, whether Smith can string together three or four wins by the end of the season is meaningless. Let's face it, at 6-18 Smith wins should be given about equal credit with a blind squirrel stumbling over an occasional acorn.

Tuggle'2
There had to be something in the back of your head in the beginning of the 2nd telling you that it might all fall apart...Oh there was. Like I said in Grilln's thread, when Smitty decided not to go for more points with 1.5 minutes and 2 timeouts left in the 2nd I kept telling myself that it would come back to haunt us. Sure enough, had we at least drove up a little bit and kicked a FG it would have been enough points to win the game. Although by the end the Lions were moving on us easily and probably could have gotten a TD if they needed it. Such a frustrating game. Tuggle'2
Nah, don't worry, bruh. They wouldn't do something like that. No way... I mean, I am not naive. It's rare, but sometimes the movie industry tries to have the sequel live up to the original. I think what it has going for them is it took them this long to do it, and the fact Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are back. I would imagine both of those guys would want to try and make it as good as possible.
